Sagarika Emporium, Government Emporium - Featured Reviews (893)
The Andaman Government Emporium is like a showcase of cool stuff from the islands, with handmade jewelry, wooden crafts, and other local treasures. The people working there know a lot about these things and can tell you interesting stories about each item. Now, here's the catch - the prices are a bit high. I get it, good things cost more, but some of the prices felt like a punch in the wallet. It makes you wonder if everyone can afford to take home a piece of Andaman. The store itself is pretty nice, though. It's big and clean, and you can walk around comfortably. They've even got little signs that tell you about the local artists who made the stuff. It's a nice touch that adds to the whole experience. Here's my suggestion: they should add some more things that don't cost an arm and a leg. Maybe have some sales once in a while or explain why some things are so pricey. It would make the cool Andamanese stuff more doable for everyone. In a nutshell, the Andaman Government Emporium is like a mini museum of island treasures, but the prices might make you think twice. It's a cool place, but it could be even better if they made it possible for more people to take home a piece of Andaman without breaking the bank.
The famous place for Sea product handicrafts available here. Its Government emporium so no bargaining, only one price. Here below the one roof all Andaman speciality items are available no need to wonder anywhere. The rate of the products are reasonable so u can purchase any items without hesitation. All staffs are so kind & friendly behave. Khadi products can also bought here.............
Very bad behaviour from the staff. They are spying customers as if we are thieves. You can't roam around freely to view the shop. Prices are skyrocketing. Do not recommend. Save your money and buy items from street vendors they are more humble and helpful
While they do offer a variety of souvenir items, I found them to be a bit overpriced. If you're on a budget, you might consider exploring the stalls near the seashores, such as Corbyn's Cove Beach or Wandoor Beach, where you can find similar items at lower prices. However, it's worth noting that the quality and variety might be more limited in those places. Another option is to check out the nearby emporiums, as they might offer better rates and a wider selection of souvenirs.
Authentic and original government Sagarika emporium. Price of items were lesser than beachside shops at Havelock & Neil. Do not get cheated by other duplicate ones across the city. Tourists are taken to other shops with similar names (but different spellings) where drivers get commission. There's a Vattika store next to this which sells organic spices like cinnamon, clove, coconut oil etc.
They have a plenty of gift items. Since its a govt supported organisation the cost of each items is higher than other shops.
It's a Govt undertaking Emporium. Here u will get all household souvenirs including wooden showpieces for home. The rates are also reasonable. Here u can buy andaman printed T-Shirt also for your memory. U can also buy Wooden showpieces like Dolphin, Deer, Crocodile, Butterfly etc. Overall a must place to visit and buy the items.
One of the best place to buy stuff from andaman. Its not just a furniture shop but one can get various items to shop for made of wood and shell. 100 pure natural coconut oil is also worth buying from here. Its a double floor shop so one must visit the upper area as well. They also have a outlet at airport. There are many trademark violations of the name Sagarika so one has to be careful as to which one is the authentic government emporium. One can find many taxi and auto just outside the emporium so its not tough to travel around this emporium
