Saara Inn - Hotel in Puducherry - Pondicherry, India

We were going to beach so we asked them to clean the room in the morning. We came back by 3 pm they said staff wasn't there so it's not cleaned. We were asked to wait for 15 mins.....it became half an hour....we were irritated as we were drenched.....and we wanted to take bath.....we took the key and went to our room to find water isn't coming. We called twice to reception nobody picked. Then manager came and informed some cleaning work is going on. It will take another half an hour. We were standing and waiting in our room as we all were drenched.... . Housekeeping staff got us water in a bucket.... Not good experience.

Great experience for an affordable stay. Had all the basic amenities along with a nice AC and TV. Was able to take a hot water bath post midnight too. Located inside a narrow alleyway but they have their own car parking which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

The images uploaded for the triple sharing room is different from the reality. The washroom was so carelessly built that it was open on the top and was not safe. When asked, they say they dint know about it and they dint receive any such complaints before. The toilets didnot look safe at all especially for women and girls. The price was also a bit overrated. Do ask for pictures if you're booking a big room for 3 to 4 people. Anyhow, the normal rooms on the upper floors seems to be good as in the pictures uploaded.

Stayed for one night here with friends in a triple room. The service and room was good. They allowed us to keep our luggage till evening for the day after checkout at 11 am, this was really helpful as it was difficult to travel with heavy luggage. It is in the middle of city, beach and french colony are at walking distance only. Quiet room and comfortable stay.

Worst Location. Please don't come here. The rooms have rats and cockroaches in them. They will force you to get water bottles from them , and later charge you extra for the water bottles. Room stinks. Electricity is so weak , if you try to ring the room's electric bell , it fuses the entire room's electricity. They only give one towel and 1 bottle per room , even if the occupants are 2 (per room). The Lady at reception charged a 1000rs INR from us , saying that she would call the police if the ransom wasn't given, for , her scooty's mirror fell off by itself, and we got the blame for it. Please, please please, find elsewhere to go... but not here.

Location wise good. Room has no ventilation. Little bit odd smell is there. Surprisingly Bathroom is spacious and clean. No restuarant is available in the hotel. Nearby restaurants available. Price is getting high during holidays which is not appropriate.

Stayed at Saara Inn for a few hours in the morning. Found a bed bug while checking out. Showed one of the house keeping staff a picture of it. She claimed it was a small cockroach and then told she doesn't even know what a bedbug looks like. No reception staff available while checking out even to complain about it. Had to get the staff to call the manager and complained about it.

We had requested via call to keep the luggage in the lobby as our bus reached the city early. They had agreed on the phone. But on reaching the hotel, the person in the reception started shouting saying we cannot keep the luggage there. Even if we keep he said he will leave in sometime and keep the door open and anybody can walk in or walk out stealing things. Extremely pathetic behaviour. Not a good way to treat the customers. If this was conveyed over call, we would have opted for early check-in prior itself, which we did ultimately. It is on a very small road with no proper place to park a car. The photos of the hotel exterior on web are misleading as it is taken from a wide angle to show big road. The fan is fixed to a constant speed and unable to increase or decrease it. Overall not a very good experience.
