Amazing archaeological remains. Protected monuments, no entry for visitors. Took photos from adjacent road and rooftop. Approach roads are narrow. Limited parking on the road. Locals have stolen bricks and stone blocks and used in their own home construction. Looking at the old houses adjacent to this monument revealed carved stone block bases of wooden pillars. Bricks are also old.
Currently this area is covered under protected area and this place and monuments has been declared to be national importance, even entry and photography is also prohibited. but really very historical temple of Loard shiva
An example of Love of purposeful art and also a hate to kill the art. A clear subconscious reflection of the mindset of two religions. Archeological Surver of Bharat should actively enter and try to save this Heritage monument. In today's Bullet & Chandrayan era such masterpieces are really rare. Sidhdhraj Jaisinh dynesty.
Rudra Mahalaya is a destroyed/desecrated Hindu temple complex at Siddhpur, Gujarat, India. It was construction in 1140 CE by Chaulukya King, Jayasimha Siddharaja. It was first destroyed by Sultan of Delhi, Alauddin Khalji, and later by Sultan of Gujarat, Ahmed Shah I (1410-1444). He also converted part of it into the congregational mosque (Jami Masjid) of the city. The temple was built in Maru-Gurjara architecture style. Two torans (porches) and four pillars of the former central structure still stand along with the western part of the complex used as a congregational mosque. Timings: Most of it has been destroyed in Bhuj Earthquake. No entry is allowed now.
This temple was destroyed by Alauddin Khilji. It's closed now by ASI and you can't enter the place.
The place is too good but there is a problem it is not open for visiting. Also this place is open only in shivratri time

Rudra Mahalaya temple has three storeyed Shikhara, around 1600 pillars, 12 entrance, wide central assembly hall, porches on three side etc. It is believed that this temple was one of the best lavish temples during this time and having tallest pillar.
