This is a very small, but well-maintained museum. It was a World War ll-era ammuntion dump. Presently, there is only one attendant present on the premises. Only those interested in military history will enjoy it. I spent 1.5 hours there , but I was the only one inside it. Since, I am a military history buff, I quite enjoyed learning the history of the Assam Rifles, the Assam Regiment, the local 101 Area, and the contributions of various units during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. It has very few artifacts (less than 10). Photography is not allowed inside the museum. There is no entry fee and no checks either.
Place was good. Very well organized. Many articrafts and related stories which depicts the rich history of Indian armed forces are present. One good thing is that entry is free.
A humble war museum of the Indian Army. Its located at the junction of Guwahati -shillong and Shillong -Cherrapunjee road, about 2 kms away from the city. You would be welcomed by a old war machine - Tank- at the entrance of this museum.
The working hour is from 10- 02 pm and 1500-1700. Its purely maintained by army unit, and its to commemorate the war victory in 1971.
We didn't visit the place but had a panoramic views of the place from outside. And found to be clean and beautiful and we'll maintained like most of the other places of the North East India.

Its good to watch ,well maintained and surrounded by a lovely place around it and the surroundings roads are clean too, which makes it more beautiful.. but i want to suggest development over that old one.. a little bigger and way to look amazing for the tourist also...
The place is a Museum, maintained and operated by the Indian army. Location is very good and the place is famous with tourists.
Good place for kids if you are intersted in introducing them to the stories filled with bravery and acts of valour of the soldiers of the Indian Army. Not many places like this in Shillong.
It's a fun destination for students to visit. It a really small museum located at the Rilbong Point maintained by Army Personals of HQ101 Area, showcasing some artifacts of defence history in Meghalaya. Major Attraction would be the famous Rhino Structure situated right in front of it which serves as a great social media picture spot.
