I personally did not like the care takers attitude. He was acting more like a hostel warden to us. He had his strict rules on how to operate the A/C, how to open the door etc. it's a decent stay and don't expect anything much fancy. The home stay is located in a busy location and so 4 wheeler parking was a task.
Overall a nice experience. Expect only the basics. Unlocking the door was a hassle everytime. But the daytime care taker who was at the reception was kind and hospitable. He took his time out to even shoot a video for me when I requested. Would visit again.

Well ! I give it four stars. What was good: I booked the room for three nights during the third week of December 2022 and unfortunately, due to a family emergency, I needed to return to Bangalore immediately, so we informed the manager - he was really understanding the situation and informed that he will ask the owner and get back to us - which he indeed did and did refund the amount with a one-day waiver - which makes sense. Second, we enjoyed how the space made us feel: lovely, homey, clean, and traditional. The staff at Cleanly are incredibly friendly. The railway station and other locations are relatively close to this homestay. what to be improved : We pay a good amount for the room, therefore perhaps water bottles should be provided complimentary every day as needed.

Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed. Overall, it's somewhat worth the price you're paying. Would recommend that you take a good hostel if you can. The rooms are okay, beds aren't so clean and there are mosquitos in the night but otherwise mostly good. Poor management skills, we had to wait for around 1.5 hours after we came, at the right time, because enough rooms weren't available. Atleast we were able to keep our luggage in the lobby so that was good. Would recommend this for the location, nothing else. Take it if you're able to get it for < 700 Rs per person.

Good place to stay. Beds weren't very comfy. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. But other than that, the staff was very helpful. Close by to the railway station. They also have bike rental which costed 400 per day. The room price is average for Pondi standards. Overall it was worth it.
