In the evening of Dussehra tribals dance and pull chariots. So from the morning they get ready.they worship the wooden made planks with bull head. Decedent's of raj family still stay here. So palace groynd floor is just open. Prince of this palace worship danteshwari devi infront of the palace and sacrifice goat as offering. One of the famous 75days dussehra in bastar district can be observed. Special on the evening and night of dussehra. Locals from nearby come here to sell handicraft and iron weapon using for farming.
Bastar palace is now a days official residence of Bastar dynasty at Jagdalpur .
It was ok but could be use as museum type building
Bastar Palace, Jagdalpur is the official residence of Maharaja of Bastar Princely State which is used as a private residence for king and his family and also tourist spot for the people.The palace is huge and made with the modern facilities of then time but well maintained and clean. The best time to visit the palace is in the time of Bastar Dusshera,which is world recognised as longest Dusshera celebration in the world which is of 75-80 days and tourist all over the world come to witness the magnificent Dusshera celebration of Bastar.
Opens from 10am in the morning. Right next to Danteshwari Mandir. I expected to explore the whole palace but you're only allowed to visit a Hall with few photos of the kings who have ruled there. If you have 30mins to kill, definetly visit here merely because of its history.
History lays here.... architectural beauty of palace will attract everyone. We are having entrance upto one room which Is like a hall where kings seat is been displayed.
Chattisgarh govt does not pay attention in its heritage. Also the royal family needs to invest for the maintenance and renovation. After good maintenance of the fort it will be a place to visit and attract more visitors
The Rajmahal parisar , the fort is very beautiful and looks awesome it is very ancient fort but now it is some look old the king of this fort named Kamal pratap bhanj dev he was the present times king the king and his family stay in this fort so you can't go inside the fort you can only view outside seen and only one room . In the room only have 3 chairs of the king and some pictures of past kings and present king.
