Being a heritage site, it is ill maintained and lacks complete orderliness. Even if some money is charged for good upkeep by a competent body, it is welcome. Public likes excellent things without even paying any money does not go in long run. It is high time to wake up and start maintaining such places in a professional manner.
It is nice place to enjoy and visit.
I visited Rajgir kund during the Malmas mela of July-August 2023. Malmas Mela is celebrated every third year here at Rajgir for a month, one extra month in three years lot. The place was full of queued people, it's difficult to take a dip in the major Kund, Brahma Kund. There are six other kund, hot water flows from these kund. Although Sarswati kund is believed to have cold water, we had the experience of hot springs only. Skyline and the beauty of the city is visible better from hill top. Jain mandir is situated at the hill top. you can go, do some trekking around there. Coming to maintenance part of the kund, there were changing rooms in skeleton around the kund. However, none of them were usable, they were all dirty even pooped. Management might take care of these things. Charging fees for using these amenities might effect change in behaviour of users.
There are multiple ancient hot springs including the most famous one, Brahma kund. The waters are said to have medicinal properties, can heal various skin and other diseases. Not allowed to carry soap inside. It is surrounded by a few hindu temples to Shiva and other Gods. It's a refreshing experience for visitors in rajgir.
Nice place for tourism in winter season but not go here in between 20 December to 10 January because of heavy traffic and Jam conditions
It is a hot water kuNdd and a famous point in raajgiir. A hot water pond where males and females, both take holy dip. Water is hot and you enjoy while being inside the kuNdd. However a lot of improvement needs to be made. Most of the area is dirty and cleanliness is not up to the level. Parking is also not managed well.
Rajgir is a historic city located in the Nalanda district of Bihar, India. It holds immense significance in Buddhism and Jainism and is known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage. The term "khund" doesn't have a widely recognized meaning in the context of Rajgir. If you're referring to a specific place or aspect of Rajgir, please provide more details, and I'll be happy to provide a more detailed description. A hot water fall, also known as a hot spring waterfall, is a natural phenomenon where hot water flows down a cascade or waterfall, creating a visually stunning and geothermally heated aquatic environment. These unique attractions are often found in regions with volcanic or geothermal activity, where underground geothermal reservoirs heat the groundwater. The hot water in these falls can vary in temperature, ranging from pleasantly warm to scalding hot, depending on the specific geological conditions of the area. As the hot water cascades down the rocks, it often creates a picturesque scene, especially when surrounded by lush vegetation and striking landscapes. One well-known example of a hot water fall is the "Banjaran Hot Springs Retreat" in Malaysia, which features tiered hot spring pools that flow into each other, forming a natural waterfall effect. Visitors can soak in the therapeutic warm waters while enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Hot water falls have been appreciated for their potential health benefits, as the warm water is believed to have therapeutic properties and is sometimes rich in minerals. People visit these locations not only for relaxation but also for their perceived healing effects on various ailments. In summary, a hot water fall is a captivating natural feature where geothermally heated water flows down a waterfall, creating a visually appealing and potentially therapeutic experience for visitors.
