Ra Khengar Vav - Historical landmark in Junagadh - Junagadh, India

Ra Khengar Vav (stepwells) is a Heritage place and situated on the Junagadh - Vanthali road and this is a property of Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. Sometime permission required for visit. This stepwell is protected by the Gujarat Government. Art of this stepwell is very beautiful. Also, this place is very silent and calm. Look this beautiful Ra Khengar Vav (Stepwells) and enjoy.

The place was like hidden treasures, its more like historic place. I recommend that it should maintain more nicely. The place is like on way visit. You can take few minutes rest and visit place. Its not worth to special go for visit this place .

A beautiful and shockingly unexplored step well from Ra Khengar era. Few later addition on the top structure by the then nawab and currently being maintained by JAU and ASI. A little ignored and poorly maintained but elegant craftsmanship in columns, jharokhas and brackets.

A 14th century vav of interest : here the vav and kuvo parts are fused in one ornamented , cylindrical well , adorned with 2 jharokhas and chambers. The spacing of brackets forming triangular patterns is particular . The place is well maintained, doted with a small garden , easy to access and nobody visits it. In these covid times , if you're interested in stepwells , a safe, short and pleasant outing.

This is unexplored place but it is amazing everyone should visit while visiting junagadh

Ra Khengar ni Vav near Vanthali is believed to be built in early 13th century. Though it is known as Ra Khengar stepwell, it historical documents suggest that it was built by Vastupal and Tejpal, ministers of Vaghela rulers.

Nice & Calm place, easily accessible. Good for picnic. Historical place. It comes under Agriculture University.
