Panna Tiger Reserve - National park in Panna - Panna, India

Excellent place for animal lovers and jungle enthusiasts. It is among the less crowded reserves and has a wide variety of flora and fauna. There is a very healthy Tiger population as well innumerable species of birds. A perfect place for a getaway for the whole family.

Panna National Park is a national park located in Panna and Chhatarpur districts of Madhya Pradesh in India. It has an area of 542.67 km2 (209.53 sq mi). It was declared in 1994 as the twenty second Tiger reserve of India and the fifth in Madhya Pradesh, Panna was given the Award of Excellence in 2007 as the best maintained national park of India by the Ministry of Tourism of India. It is notable that by 2009, the entire tiger population had been eliminated by poaching with the collusion of forest department officials. I visited at end of June, due to rainy season we can't see any tiger. The sanctuary will be closed from July to September. High chances to see tigers in summer. The guides were good and having through knowledge. Enjoyed the safari.

Panna is emrald forest, surrounded by Karnavati river which have rich equatic flora and fauna as well as table top topography and undulating terrain and lovely landscape it is prime habitat for tiger and other animals. I'm recommended stay at lovely sparrow home stay madla panna tiger reserve, the delicious organic food cooked on mud chulha (stove)

Scenic location with abundance of wild life. Saw 5 tigers and a sloth bear.

Great experience. The tiger reserve was a advenurous experience as it was a bike trip. After entering the forest area we roamed around and it was pleasing. Even the roads look like they are built for relaxing. The roads were extremely beautiful with lot of things to wat h on your way in/out.
