Palakkayam Thattu - Hill Station in New Naduvil - Kannur, India

Amazing place. Scenic backdrop for photography. Small hike to the top is needed. Great place for a evening outing. Good place for couples. Due weather we couldn't see the sunset. But if weather is good, one can experience an amazing 360 view.

A nice place for a quick get away in Kannur. The road to the place is narrow and does have some potholes. There is parking space for vehicles at the top. An entry fee of Rs 35 is charged per person. Go in the morning to have a great view.

It's good place to visit in evening or morning, surrounded by green forest, deep valley and there after mountains of western ghat. Coorg is not far from this place. Tough driving and 400m tracking

It's no longer a good place to visit. It's a kind of graveyard now. There are no amenities open for visitors anymore. Everything has been completely spoiled due to lack of maintenance and is now closed permanently. All the light towers are rusted and broken, all the chairs are broken, there is irregular wiring for lights, the grass has covered the park and it's amenities, and there is a very bad road to reach if you are traveling from the north. It's a total zero !!!

Palakkayam Thattu is locating about 50 km away from Kannur Railway Station. The travel towards Palakkayam Thattu itself is a mesmerizing one, especially for the Bike riders. The major advantage of this 4000 mete elevated hill station is the accessibility until the entrance of it. Another important thing is, there are three food outlets with in the hills station, two in ground level including Five Star Chicken and another one in top of the hill station. Palakkayam Thattu is all seasonal destination in Kannur. However, its best time to visit is during Monsoon. The wind blowing on the top pampers and kisses our forehead and the extensive 360 degree view point captivating us to visit again and again. The real attractions of Palakkayam Thattu starts from the sunrise on the hills to the night covered with mist. Palakkayam Thattu opening for the visitors from early morning 05:00 to night 10:00. The journey to the beauty landscape was really a memorable . Snuggled in lush greenery and a view the eyes would delight in, it is THE place to be in when you're in Kannur. Accessible and beautifully planned, offering a fantastic view from the top. Beautiful sunrise and sunset view, also a perfect spot for those interested in sky gazing. Looking at the stars from here, it's so beautiful, they look like holes on heaven's door. Missing this place out would be a sin!! Visited a not-so-crowded hilltop after a long time. Palakkayam Thattu is a well-maintained lush green location that boasts of its majestic views from all sides. The best slots to visit is early morning 6 to 7.30 AM & evening post 5 upto 6.30 PM. Once at the parking lot, one must hire a Mahindra Thar/Jeep to reach the entrance which is roughly 2 kms of a very steep drive. This would cost Rs.700 per vehicle for a round trip (a bit heavy on the pocket). The vehicle would wait for the passenger at the top for 1.5 to 2 hours (payment to be made only once you are dropped back at the parking lot). The Thar/Jeep would also offer you a package worth Rs.2000 which also includes various camping and adventure activities (inclusive of the round trip jeep fee). The entry fee to Palakkayam Thattu is Rs.35 per adult.

Palakkayam Thattu is an incredible place with a super vibe. I had the opportunity to visit in the evening, and the atmosphere was enhanced by the presence of fog and rainfall. The natural experience I had there was truly indescribable. It is a must-visit place, especially in the evening, to fully immerse yourself in its beauty.
