Palakkad Kotta Maithanam - Playground in Palakkad - Palakkad, India

Beautiful place to spend time. Can wander around the kotta to see the amazing constructions. There is a garden, a running Jail and a Hanuman temple inside the Kotta. Lot of place there to sit and relax. An evening walk can do around the kotta which is surrounded by the grass landscapes. Nearby shops are also available for refreshments.

Palakkad fort is a must visit historical monument situated at the heart of Palakkad district. The fort was well maintained by ASI. They are charging Rs. 25 (on 2023) to enter the Fort

Fort Maidan popularly known as Kotta Maidanam is in Palakkad. Kotta maidan is opposite Palakkad Fort. Nearby railway Stations are Palakkad Town and Palakkad Junction. KSRTC bus station is very near to kotta maithanam.Palakkad municipality constructed an open gymnasium in kotta maithanam with the Palakkad MP fund of M.B.Rajesh.

The grounds are very spacious, surrounded by shade trees and beautiful. But during the rainy season, this ground turns into a waterlogged and muddy area that cannot be used. The municipality is not doing anything to improve the quality of this ground. There is not even a good running track here where many people come for training.

This is a amazing historic place, there is a jail located inside here... The view is amazing as well as the fort... There is a small temple inside and the neatness of the place is also good... They do clean it very often... I recommend you to visit here.. Also this is a good place to bring your family...
