OYO 79591 Flagship Hotel Shivalay - Hotel in Gwalior - Gwalior, India

Now this is a unique hotel which has budget rooms, that are peaceful. Once inside, you are in solitude in a quaint world surrounded by huge trees. It has a kitchen instead of a restaurant so you need to order your meals in time else the chef leaves. The food tastes homely. The reception is manned by a couple of mild mannered guys and there is one waiter but the service is reasonably quick. Just when I wanted to say that it is a resort for a pea nut price, I remembered one major issue. The place is at a walking distance from Railway station and the railway tracks go around this hotel at a few meters distance. Every time a train passes, your bed vibrates. Not to mention the noise of rumbling and honking. If you can put up with this, the place is awesome. The rooms are well furnished and spacious.

Poor rooms, small toilets and hell of train sound all over the night. And they added unnecessary stuff to our bill like tea and mineral water, over all its cheap hotel but you ll not b able to sleep because of the train sound.

A fabulous hotel with fantastic staff who make your stay absolutely wonderful. The staff are always on hand to help with any needs and are extremely friendly and attentive. They make you feel special. From check in to check out, the service was smooth. We had some noise issues on the first night and this was immediately resolved the following day with a change of room. No fuss at all and they were also generous to offer us an upgrade, which I was very surprised and pleased about. They took great detail in making sure we had a pleasant stay and even down to being personally spoken to by the manager of the hotel. The hotel has great ambience, beautiful decor, and ample facilities, all perfectly looked after with great pride and love.

This is not a 3 star hotel. But this is a bloody 3rd class hotel.. Which I can't even tolerate.. Poor service. Bad receptionist. Bad workers. Even train leaving beside from us which can't let us sleep. Location was overall nice .. But I'm regretting why I was here.. Worst hotel I had ever seen in my entire life.. I'd here experienced there worst quality one time.. But after that I had also visited second time there thinking that this time they'll improve.. But.. I was wrong.. This is a bloody cheap hotel.. I'll never take my feet to that path again

Never book this hotel via Oyo. They do not accept prepaid online payment even though it has been done beforehand via the Oyo app. We were made to call Oyo, cancel booking and only then were given rooms after making payment(that too only cash option was available)- all this at 11:30pm in the night when we have to get up early for an exam the next day. Also, the second room was of poor quality. Lighting, cupboards were not good. One window was not properly closed because of which cold air was seeping inside the room. The reception staff was not very supportive. They checked out one room(the better one) on their own, without asking us, before the check out time (apparently for one of their known guests :/ ). Breakfast and tea were good. Not suitable for light sleepers as trains kept on passing by very frequently. Overall a very bad experience inspite of planning out the accommodation a week in advance. Major part of the blame also goes to "OYO Rooms" for extremely poor customer service.

One of the best feature about this hotel is its location. It is situated very close to the Gwalior railway station, and the rates are affordable. My stay in the hotel was fine. The room service was actually quiet a letdown. The telephone in my room to call in the hotel reception wasn't working, so i had to call the landline number (which i searched from internet) for room service. The rooms were nice and clean, Air conditioner was working fine. The washroom cleanliness was above average. It also serves vegetarian meals at affordable rates too. Though, if you prefer to have non vegetarian meals, then swiggy/zomato are the only options because there are no non-veg. Restaurants near the hotel. Overall, If you are looking to stay near the gwalior railway station at affordable rates, then this hotel should be shortlisted.

The hotel is just a walk away from Gwalior near Railway station. The room was pretty nice and the AC of the room was very fast also the room was pretty well furnished, equipped with all the necessary accessories including toiletries given by OYO. The room service is very quick and the staff is prompt. Breakfast is quite good. Also the price is very very good. Finding a room to stay in Gwalior was not easy since we had a car and almost every other oyo rooms we checked either were too costly or simply didn't have a parking area. Here we got the parking area and the staff and services were fine too, only make sure that the bathroom/toilet's tap, flush etc works fine. Apart from that, we didn't face any issues. Overall a good experience.
