OYO 31017 Hotel Nirmala - Hotel in Agartala - West Tripura, India

I went there for having lunch. The food was average. I ordered Catla fish (Rs. 150) and Wallago catfish / boal fish (Rs. 200). Taste wise Catla fish was good but Boal fish curry was stale and salty.

Someone recommended me to go there for better accommodation and service..... But nothing was good and better..... No chefs were there that day and anyhow It was too bad to eat the food they prepared in absence of the chefs.... There was no AC in the room even though I paid for it...i complained about that.... But there's no response from them... And no hot water to take bath...... I don't recommend it to anyone..... Don't ever visit this place and if you do so,,,, you'll be a fool....

I don't know about the hotel service but once went to the fast food restaurant of theirs. Its pathetic. They made me wait for 45 minutes for 1 egg roll. And the behaviour is the worst i have seen in any such places.

The attitude of the owner is unacceptable & disgusting. The service is quite poor, street vendor would serve better than the employees who work over there. If you happen to have rice meal than they would provide you leftovers from the day before just by warming it in the oven. Trust me & save your money & time for better place.

Looking for good fast food in the area? "Nirmala" serves you with some good fried food that would make your tummy smile. Speaking from personal experience, I've been there more than thrice now and wouldn't regret going for the next 10times or so . The only thing I've found unfitting is the restaurant food. Before I go on, fyi this place has two parts "restaurant" and "fast food" . The restaurant would serve you good food but less in amount for a little high price. Nevertheless it's a good place for taking a break in the evening or whichever hour of the day you like.

The overall rating could only be three stars to be honest, the rooms were clean and well maintained, but a few specific things weren't taken proper care of. First of all, the speed of flowing water in the bathroom is so slow that one won't have the patience to stand there and take a proper bath though they have a gyser installed. There was lack of proper staff for house keeping or room service, even the problem in television wasn't taken care of as it was beyond their capacity. Most of the time there's no one available at the reception. The food is very good here and that's one among the few things that's a definite plus point. Rest I would say it needs a lot of improvements.

I am not sure why many guests have downvoted it. I found this very good, clean, big or standard size room, good public transport available since it is just beside the main road, ample parking space, helpful staffs, owner and manager both have very good behaviour, different types of food available, standard food prices, direct auto available to bot tala, for railway station only two break else you can reserve, room beautifully decorated with fall ceiling, fridge ( I have not used ). I will prefer to stay here again. Update: Stayed here again with family. Again same good experience. If you plan to catch train, and want everything under same roof, stay here. Highly recommended.

I would suggest people for not choosing this place at all. Booked from OYO and been cheated. The room images shown were not available at all. I paid 1500 INR for a room which was similar to a 300 rs cheap Guest house room with AC. First impression - Hotel located on main road and easy to find directions. Ample of space for road side car parking, however no security. Entrance - Stairs all the way till 2nd floor while climbing up on floor you can easily see the kitchen on left side which is really dirty and none of the kitchen member used any health and safety policies. Room - There are rooms on the right and left side of lobby. Left side rooms were slightly better and right hand side rooms were pathetic. Unfortunately I got the room on right hand side. I guess it was 207. The entrance door was bit Ok, once you entered room I saw a broken leg Tipoi and one plastic chair. 28 inches TV on right side and 1 tonne local brand Air conditioner on the top. Left side a nice comfy sleepwell matress but it was all food felt on it. The staff tried to cover that beneath bedsheets but the bedsheet were so dirty and smelling like rotten food I had to take that away. Worst part is the toilet. Have to climb like one small step to use the washroom. I wonder how would a senior citizen or differently abled person would use that. Opening the door I was like "What the heck" I have never seen such dirty washroom in my life all these years after staying in hundreds of hotels. I wondered where was the sink(wash basin), yes it was but behind the door which opened inner side of bathroom. Same old, small and dirty sink just like you see in a cheap guest house. The shower was blocked with some particles and water force was so slow that it took me 15 minutes to take bath. Toilet seat - Now this is something on what I stared for 5 minutes to figure out on which direction should I sit. It was western toilet and it was fitted so close to the wall due to limited space for washroom that someone could hardly use it. I wonder why did the hotel owner did not use it after the toilet seat was fitted. I sat on the seat at could not fit my right leg properly as the space between toilet seat and wall was too narrow. Barely a child could sit in a proper way. Yes that sounds funny and shameful but I had to sit cross ways and to clean bumps it was so so difficult. Oh God I can't even imagine what situation I went through. No toiletries were provided. I had to ask them 3 times and they charged me for that too. Dining experience- The food was definitely expected as was the room. Morning cooked meals were stored in big utensils and same was given for lunch and dinner (Veg thali). To be honest all over experience was ridiculous and I would suggest people to choose any other hotel but not this. I was traveling next morning by train and due to covid situation as we are all aware no linens are provided in AC bogies these days and it was a lockdown in Agartala. I asked the owner if he could give me a bedsheet and I will pay him. Imagine he asked for 1500 rupees for a bedsheet. That was just "Wow". Well good luck people for your stay.
