Good for one or two day stay, because the rooms are very old. Though, No bad smell inside room. However cleanliness can be improved. Food is very tasty here like home food. I have tried food in Bhubaneswar OTDC as well and it was good. I think they maintain good food standards. Staff are kind, courteous and helpful.
This is one of the best budget friendly hotels in Konark which is initiated by Odisha Government. Indeed, you will get a free complimentary breakfast with your booking. The rooms here are very neat and hygienic. The atmosphere is very beautiful and spacious. The food is good, not so spicy and salty it feels like home taste.
Went to attend the konark festival last night (2nd Dec, 23) organised by OTDC, had dinner at Yatri Niwas, the food quality, taste and varieties were below standard. Konark festival invited lot of artists and guests across India and OTDC was expected to deliver best of services as it speaks a lot about the Odisha State as well. There were very limited food items, no starter , and the dessert was not upto the mark. To add on to the woes, everything was served (including soup)cold during winter night ( December). Also it was expensive in the range of 350-650 inr per plate. The wash basins/ toilet were uncleaned and stinky. OTDC really need to improve the standard of their services.
I have stayed there for two nights in a deluxe room. My experience was very awful. Room was not so clean. Furniture including sofa upholstery was dirty. And the worst part was I found cockroaches in bathroom. I am not posting the commode seat picture. If I post whoever sees it will puke. Very disappointed. If it is deluxe room, what about the standard rooms!
We didn't stay here but had food. The food is very tasty and value for money. Especially Non Veg like Crab Masala. Not too crowded even during holidays, may be because tour operators don't bring there people here.
Great location and well laid out garden but the room and service left a lot to be desired. I am sure people would be more than willing to pay a higher price for better maintained rooms and service.
It is just in the opposite of The magnificent Sun Temple at Konark. It is the culmination of Orissan temple architecture, and one of the most stunning monuments of religious architecture in the world. The poet Rabindranath Tagore said of Konark that 'here the language of stone surpasses the language of man', and it is true that the experience of Konark is impossible to translate into words. The massive structure, now in ruins, sits in solitary splendour surrounded by drifting sand. Today it is located two kilometers from the sea, but originally the ocean came almost up to its base. Until fairly recent times, in fact, the temple was close enough to the shore to be used as a navigational point by European sailors, who referred to it as the 'Black Pagoda'.
ok, not many other options, so carry on with this govt enterprise, don't forget it is govt run, so don't be surprised to see earthworms in the rooms. the window acs are just above the floor, and there is grass outside with no maintenance, so
Very welcoming staff, polite and friendly. The rooms are big and clean. The AC is a bit old and making noise, but this is the only not so good point. The propertiy is a bit outside of the Konark, but the temple is in a walkable distance. Also foreign

Good beach with lots of speed boats, buggy rides and boats. A must visit after visiting the Konark Sun temple. In olden days the temple used to be near the ocean but over time the sea bed has receded. Parking fee is Rs 40.
