The Orchha Sanctuary is a breathtaking haven, a serene abode for nature enthusiasts and wildlife aficionados. Nestled in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, this sanctuary unfolds an enchanting tapestry of diverse flora and fauna against a backdrop of lush greenery and tranquil surroundings. The sanctuary's landscape boasts meandering rivers, serene lakes, and verdant forests, offering a picturesque retreat for visitors. Spread across an area of around 46 sq km, the sanctuary, cut by the scenic Betwa river, is home to rare varieties of plants and birds. It was established in the year 1994 and has attracted wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers since.
Serene, virgin, untouched and traveller friendly! One of the few sanctuaries that lets you experience the beauty of nature on foot (or bicycle). There are multiple walking trails, quite clearly marked, all leading to different spots. We went in early December, and although didn't see any animals or birds as such, he the most pleasant relaxed time there. Must visit, keep it a secret though...and please don't spoil the environment! Also go only if you want to be in touch with nature, not for a picnic or with the expectation of spotting any wildlife as such.
This place has a very beautiful river flowing across the Sanctuary. You will find beautiful birds with lots of cows I don't know why. But the stones and river in the forest will make your day. You can also take your car in the Sanctuary

Beautiful place to hangout with family and friends. Nice view of Betwa river.
Orchha Century is located on the banks of the river Vetva in Orchha; This type of wild animal deer, Nilgai, monkey, wild boar and various types of birds are also found in this century. There can be trekking in the forest along the banks of the river. Boating facility in the river is also available. The pedal boat can be taken for one hour at a cost of Rs. 50 per person. River rafting can also be done on the availability of water in the river. Overall, there is a great place to celebrate a picnic with the family.
This place screamed history! The crowded Ram Mandir experience was worth on it's own. Try the Kalakand (dessert), it's really tasty. There are some pretty good resorts nearby. Rafting in the Betwa river is another thing one could try.
