I met Suryans this summer (2022) in Santorini, Greece. He came to visit his student and my dear friend. Since I am a yoga teacher, I invited him to do a tree days Iyengar yoga workshop for my students and he agreed. I have really enjoyed his teachings and his step by step approach in preparing the students for each posture. I was very impressed with his knowledge and devotion to yoga. Suryan is a modest and very kind soul, with a lot of knowledge and experiences. Waiting to meet him again in his school in Rishikesh. Thank you Suryan for everything. Hari Om.

An eye-opening experience with yoga after completing a 3 day workshop with Suryan! Suryan taught my group over the course of 3 days - asana, adjustments, and progressions towards headstand/handstand on the final day. Rest assured, his iyengar yoga teaching skills were on point, and all of us could head stand by the end of the workshop. His teaching style is hands-on, concise, and personal, and he is a very fun and friendly person, too. Highly recommended, and I hope to see you again soon for some more top-quality yoga!

I enjoyed for the 3rd time a workshop with Suryan Thakur in Brussels. He is a rare yoga teacher : patient, paying great attention to details, extremely precise and with excellent teaching skills. Suryans has a real talent to finding ways to improve the asanas. to "unlock" the access to asanas, to help his students improve and understand body alignment. He takes the time to explain clearly and simply complex issues and is very attentive to all the students. I have really appreciated his innovative use of blocks, blanket, rope, chair, wall and bolster to deepen the postures! Suryan is definitely a very professional teacher, in all respects. I had met Suryans 10 years ago in Louvain-la-Neuve. He then corrected me on Sarvangasana and I never forgot. Each time I practiced Sarvangasana afterwards, I had a moving thought for Suryans. I had the immense honor of being able to meet him again this month of May in Belgium, but this time for several days. What happiness, not only in the postural work but also for the wisdom it releases. Two days of quality teaching, which touched me, like 10 years ago.

Suryans is professional, high quality and very organized yoga teacher. I liked the structure of his practise, both mentally and physically, and he takes good care of all in the class. Suryans (not Surinder) the iyengar teacher is one of the top 3 teachers in Rishikesh. I was recommended of him from another teacher who taught him. I have had over 150 teachers in my life and hands down the best from the lot because of the attention to detail. I was with him everyday for 25 days and these are the results: 1. Opened by back after having a hunchback all my life. 2. Legs are totally toned after explaining the tadassana pose properly. 3. He doesn't shout or scream like other iyengar teachers. 4. He's really and truly humble. He gives 100% of his effort so you better give the same. 5. I have no idea how his classes are not full because he's like a hidden jewel Advice: Come 15 minutes early because Google maps hasn't marked his address properly.
