Avian melodies fill the air, yet sighting the birds proves to be quite challenging in this location. The ambiance is tainted by the hum of electrical wires and a pervasive odor of petroleum. Despite these elements, it's a worthwhile destination for a singular visit.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the city on the bank of Yamuna lies Okhla Bird sanctuary. Being right inside the city one feels distant from it. With pleasant breeze from the water, birds chirping around, ducks in the water, flocks of egret flying around for some feast on fishes its a delightful place to stand and gaze. Thanks for not mordernizing the place with so called "entertainments". I often visit this place to be with and learn from nature.
Nearest metro station is okhla Bird sanctuary (Magenta line)It is a must visit place for wildlife photographer but you must visit in the month of November onwards. And if you want to see the unique species you have to do hardwork to find them. For Indians ticket price is Rs 30 and for foreigners it is 350. There are two watch towers from where you can have a good point of view of the sanctuary.

Okhla Bird Sanctuary is a nice place to visit if you are craving for a break from your tedious, monotonous life. A touch of nature always makes your soul feel refreshed.
You might need to walk around 2-5 km to enjoy this fully.
Recommended for friends and couples.
Not much recommended for families.
Do not expect much birds here unless it the migratory season (October - January)
Amenities - Washroom, Drinking water, Small Canteen (opened irregulary), Golf Caddy (to go to the other side of the sanctuary)
Note - Do not forget to visit the both WatchTowers. Ask people for directions if you cannot find. They are near Gate No. 2.

This place is safe even in the evening hours.
Nothing for 30 rupees entry fee . There's just long walking road. You'll definitely see various birds. But not sure why they are charging this much? There's nothing and they are charging 30Rs per head. Just a kinds of small side forest and trees and long road for walk. Not even worth for 10Rs.
Very disappointing, rather you can go yamuna vatika and many places near bank of yamuna in delhi you'll enjoy the beauty of nature and peaceful. Really not recommended for those who understand the value of 10Rs even.
