Iconic North gate is the 1st glimpse of glorious history of Tripura you get to see if you are entering the city from the airport end. Standing tall in pride for many years it's the north entrance of the royal palace of Tripura, Ujjayanta Palace.
You can have your daily dose of walk here, from the North Gate to the Town Hall or ahead till Anandamayee Ashram. Although this place remains congested most of the time as it's a route to the main city. It's a historical landmark as it used to be the entrance gate to the Palace compound during the King's era.
Actually North gate is just like a location. A large concrete gate is there which once served as a Royal entrance located at the North direction of the Royal Palace ( presently State Museum, Ujjayanta Palace). Other than that, the part is within the city only and we'll connected with other parts of the city by means of public transport like autorickshaw and bus. Some other important locations are also within the walking distance.
