Founded by King Harichandan of Nilagiri Dynasty and situated just beside Nilagiri Palace/ Rajbati, at the foothills of Swarnachuda hills, Nilagiri Jagannath Temple is religio-cultural pillar of Odisha. Though the temple is not very big...it is very popular and widely respected. The Gadur Dhaj at the entrance of the temple is a fascinating one.

We visited this Jagannath temple in 2018/19 and it was an amazing experience to take the blessings of lord Jagannath do visit this place whenever you are in balesore and beside the temple there is a rajabati where a bamphi (underground pond) is present and experience a new thing am sharing some pics of this place .

This Jagannath temple situated adjacent of Nilgiri palace. This temple also called Nilgiri temple. Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are worshiped here. This is one of famous temple in Orissa. Chariot festival also celebrated here. The palace need to proper maintenance. The palace is situated base of Swarnachud mountain.

Visited this place on 14.10.2021. This was the royal palace that is situated just beside the Nilgiri Jagannath temple. Situated at the nest of the hill, the area has old dilapidated buildings from a bygone era. This is an attractive tourist destination as well and is visited by almost anyone who visits the Nilgiri temple. If you are a fan of history and old buildings, you must visit this place!
