Neyyar Lion Safari Park - Wildlife and safari park in Kallikadu - Thiruvananthapuram, India

Neyyar DAM is a good place to spend some time . The lake is beautiful for clicking photographs. Some time can be spent boating in the lake. The lake side is good and clean, however the dam area could have been cleaned and maintained in a better manner. There is an aquarium . The entry ticket is Rs 30/-. A visit to Neyyar DAM can be clubbed with Kottur Elephant Orphanage where the best time to go is 9 AM in the morning. The best mode of transport to go there is a cab as both of these places are in a little secluded locations.f you want to be spend time with peace of mind and away from rush, this is the right place to visit. It is best to visit on June - Feb mid. You can have a boat ride to lion safari park (Don't expect more)and elephant rehab centre a few kilometers away. There also you can have a boat ride. Rainy season will be the best time to visit this place as per my opinion. The park is are now renovated and its very attractive. There is an aquarium from where you can by golden fish with cheap price for your home aquarium. The swimming pool is under renovation and hope it will complete within a year.

Emmmm.... there are no lions according to the official there. They all died.... so I saw 1 python & a few crocodiles.. saw the Dam too... All in all a true waste oof time indeed.

Sanctuary having Lion Safari gave lot of expectations to tourists. But contrary to expectations 15 minutes safari through deteriorating forests ended the sights of only two lions seemed to be tired resting on rocks. Not just for exhibitions but conservation of such animals are the need of the time.

Beautiful place, we had boating and went to crocodile protection centre.

This place is gifted with a bountiful of natures beauty. The lion safari suffers from lack of lions. We saw only a single male lion.

the tour is only worth for the boatsride and only if you stay outside and don't sit down inside the boat. the landscape is very beautiful. other than that the tour is really boring, you sit in a bus, enter through a jurassic park like gate and see two lions that just lay in a spot where they probably get their food at. the deers and crocodiles are in a cage (apparently for research and if they're injured). unfortunately it's not very different from a zoo.

It was just a 15 to 20 mins trip in a caged van. Here one can witness lion for sure... But they looks exhausted and not interested in humans all the time.. Lol

Was awesome place. Good boating too. But no enough lions now.
