New Banana Cafe & Restaurant - French restaurant in Puducherry - Pondicherry, India

The decor was very nice, coffee was very tasty and it comes in different cups which is very good as the cups looks beautiful. They have their own grown herbal plant which they use for their herbal tea which is very good. Their bacon with cheese and egg is very nice as well as any salads. Their homemade jam was very tasty. The juice was very fresh. Overall good place for visit with family and friends for breakfast.

It's a good peaceful place located in the top floor of an appartment. Ambience is hut type, heat was not felt. Food quantity is little less but worth trying here different varieties. Many french fries are provided which could be reduced and quantity of main dish can be improved.

So when we reached Pondicherry, we got a list of restaurants we must visit. Banana cafe was up there with a few mighty names. We walked down to this place and ended up in a dimly lit nice residential place by the French Town. All we saw was a small board and a stair to the roof, mind it - you have to climb 3 floors. We were greeted in a very Latin and nice cosy set up by Senthil. Don't go by the first impression, in my experience that's more than often wrong. And i was happy to be wrong again. The food was delicious, very affordable I would say. I had Garlic Chicken and man, would i want to go there again .. obviously. Finger licking good french food. Small menu but worth the visit.

I visited this cafe in November and the ambience was sooo good. The food served here is really tasty and have french taste for sure The chef/owner of the cafe is friendly and really passionate about food. We tried Roasted Chicken and Quiche. Both were yum

Nice place for a nice food. When visited the place no one was there and we were thinking of having the food there. But when we ordered the food or was a surprise for us. The food was ultimate and awesome. We didn't expect it to be so good. We ordered almost many varieties from the menu and all were good and tasty. Experienced all varieties of pastas from there. The mushroom gratin was the best in the food we ordered. The do have cakes which were prepared by them, it was good too. They served the food in short time which made us also feel happy. The ambience was also too good with nice roof top surrounded by plants. Must visit.

Yummy is the word for every single item you order here. Cosy, simple space on the roof, decently managed. The quantity of food is great too.

We visited during our pondy stay to try french cuisine. This place is located bit far from the popular cafes but we were so happy we found this.Away from the crowded areas, quiet and peaceful. It is on the fourth floor and is roof top. Run by a very sweet couple, the owner is the chef himself it seemed. He suggested us items from the menu as we wanted to order pure veg and many french items have egg in their batter preparation. We ordered Ratatouille with pasta and tarte mushroom from the day specials. Both items were really very tasty and soothing. One word of advice for people visiting. This is authentic french cuisine, so not expect pasta sauces and Italian flavours in the food. You may want to add little salt and pepper to enhance the taste though. We were really happy after our meal and thanked the chef for making our first experience so delightful. A must recommend place if you visit pondy.

The restaurant is a street away from the main road. Cozy little place.. The chef comes and takes the order so only visit them if you have 30 mins to spare to get your order. Gratin for the day (with Fries & veg salad) + Basil lemonade + Apple & Cinnamon crepes costed us 500rs. 2 can have this comfortably. Except for being a little watery Gratin for the day is a good dish to try on.
