We were booked in New Alexandra House Boats. However, we were taken to a House Boat named Pleasure Palace. When asked, we were told it belongs to the same Group. We felt cheated, as Rooms were OK, but cleanliness was not great. We were told that food will not be served in the Boat House we were living, but we had to go to a common dining area. Dinner was supposed to start at 8.30 PM, but there was no food. After shouting with the staff, food was served at 9.30 PM. Food was BAD. Only two vegetable curries, and bad quality rice. It took another 15 minutes for Rotis to come, by which time we had finished our dinner. Breakfast was equally BAD. They served ready made butter and jam sandwiches, and the Upma and Poha were tasteless. Overall, our experience was BAD, and we felt cheated for the money we paid for our stay.
Houseboat is at a great location in Dal Lake. Service is good, staff helped us to make room more heat since the weather was very cold.
A Disappointing Experience at Alexandra Houseboat. The rooms was too hot with no ventilation. Mr Deepak tried his best to provide good service. Opt for Hotels Instead.
The houseboat was spacious inside. Service was excellent. Location was fantastic. We went there via shikaras. The weather was calm and it was probably the quietest place in srinagar. It had a constant network connection. During the evening when the sun was setting, the golden yellow flame of the sun lighting upon the waters of the Dal Lake, oh... it was surreal... beautiful experience.... It should be a must visit for every Kashmir itinerary
Stayed here in the month of September for one night. The location was perfect.. Rooms were clean very well decorated.. Enjoyed the stay.

Just dont go don't ruine your trip with bad experience No need to stay on houseboat for no reason just avoid worst food and power cut is the thing they hide You will be disconnected woth land
