Nedou's Hotel - Hotel in Gulmarg, Forest Block - Srinagar, India

Stayed here for 3 nights with family. Location and food is good. We also got the new rooms which were great. However, service is where they lack. Housekeeping is non-existent; nobody ever picks up. A personnel has been assigned for lobby of rooms, who is not adequately trained. As others have mentioned, staff openly asks for tips, with complicit approval of the management. Hot water was not available in the mornings, and having to ask for it repeatedly in person (since housekeeping doesn't exist) was a big disappointment.

The heater was not working properly. I asked for an extra heater or New one but it wasn't provided. So I felt chilled due to lower temperature (-1 c) and not able to sleep properly on that day.My son was not well so they were supposed to support us as much as possible but not much helpful l. Service is also so slow. I need to call 2-3 times to get things done.

Really like the property, must say one of the best property in the vicinity for a truly luxurious stay. The team and specially Mohd. Hussain made sure that we have a comfortable stay. More importantly the views from the hotel are breathtaking which makes your day. Would really recommend booking one if you are visiting Gulmarg. Overall everything - hospitality is class apart.

Great location....Great Hospitality... One of the best viewed hotel near the foothills. The garden area is also well decorated. Food is also of good quality. Highly recommended for enjoying vacation with friends and family.

We booked two executive rooms and the rooms were in a shabby condition. There was NO door on shower cubicle in both rooms and the entire bathroom would flood after every shower. When we asked about it, we were told that some guest had broken it. How can a guest break doors of two separate bathrooms? The carpet was dirty with big dirt stains all over. It was torn in several places. The food inside the hotel is just ok but exorbitantly priced. The only saving grace of this hotel is its location. Otherwise it's better to skip this one if you can

So i was looking for places to stay in Gulmarg and came across Nedou's. Location wise it is really good. Overlooks the entire Gulmarg golf course. Calm and serene. I had booked 2 Executive rooms but to my surprise they upgraded me to the Luxury Suite. Rooms are really clean and cosy. Food is great. Loved the breakfast buffet. One thing to Note and might be an issue for some elderly, one needs to be walk maybe close to 30 steps uphill to reach the rooms, does not look much but given the altitude and the age of few elders they might need to take it a bit slow. Rest all good.

Undoubtedly the location is scenic as it could be. Meadows and mountains all around. Now when it comes to Rooms, as far as standard ones are concerned, they are like they are never maintained and repaired since 1888 (when this hotel was built). No generic accessories, no toiletries, filthy bathroom, hanging and dilapidated ceiling. Service was below average. They were talking ages and constant nagging to get things done. Food was good though. Overall an average property. Stay at your risk.

The best stay during our Kashmir trip. Fantastic views from the hotel, comfortable rooms and delicious food. The management was gracious enough to upgrade our stay to the luxury suite. Taking away one point only due to the nature of the staff, who does not leave us in peace unless they receive "bakshish" (tips). Though we were confronted with a lot of people asking us for "tips" during our Kashmir trip, none of the staffs from our stays in Srinagar, Sonmarg or Pahalgam demanded tips from us. Tip is somehting that the customer willingly pay, and the demanding nature seemed a bit sad, especially from an upscale establishment like Nedou's
