Privately maintained palace exorbitantly charged for entry to different rooms but guide doesn't explain much. Not worth the entry fee. It has good items preserved from many years.
Good Victorian architecture. You get twenty minutes of guided tour through three small sections of the Palace which used to be the office of the then ruler. Charges are nominal at Rs50 for the palace and Rs280 for the whole package which includes doll meusem, horse carriage etc. Should be fun
The Naulakha Palace, the oldest extant palace in Gondal India, dating back to the 18th century (1748), with a "sculpted facade is a part of the Darbargardh fort complex. It is named "Navalakaha" meaning rupees "nine lakhs" (Rs 900,000) which was the cost of building it at that time. It has stone carving with "Jarokhaas" (balconies), a pillared courtyard, delicately carved arches, and a unique spiral staircase. The large chandelier-lit "darbar" hall (court house) witnesses stuffed panthar, gilt wooden furniture, and antique mirrors. The "private palace museum" displays an array of silver caskets which were in the services of carrying messages and gifts for the Maharajah Bhagvat Bapu on his silver jubilee as ruler of Gondal
Naulakha Museum "private palace museum" displays an array of silver caskets which were in the services of carrying messages and gifts for the Maharajah Bhagwat Sinhji on his Silver jubilee as ruler of Gondal. is situated within Darbargardh built during the 18th century, with a number of additional structures built in subsequent years. The main approach to the complex is through a curved gateway structure with a clock tower which rises in three tiers above the gateway. The palace is at the far end from the gate and is fronted by a rectangular forecourt. The palace has an overview of the Gondal River. There are many other structures within the complex.. The entry fee is charged for each block..
