Awesome place.. do visit with your family and friends... Good for a solo trip as well...
They say that mountains and beaches have the power to relax the human soul. I live in Salem which is surrounded by mountains in all directions. I visited Nagore beach as I came to the shrine. Sea is just as good as mountains. The sound of waves are like white noise. Very relaxing but the wind will carry small sand particles are if you stay there for a while, your skin would be covered by it and you have to take a bath. Mountains don't do that. Mountains just offer fresh air and chirping sounds of birds.
Nagore Beach is located in Nagapattinam district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, along the southeastern coast of India. To reach Nagore Beach, you can:
1. **By Air:** The nearest major airport is Tiruchirappalli International Airport (TRZ), which is approximately 140 kilometers away. From there, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Nagore.
2. **By Train:** Nagore has a railway station, Nagore Railway Station (NCR), which is well-connected to major cities in Tamil Nadu and other parts of India. You can take a train to Nagore and then use local transportation to reach the beach.
3. **By Road:** Nagore is accessible by road via National Highway 83. You can drive to Nagore or take a bus from nearby cities like Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, or Thanjavur.
As for Nagore itself, it is known for its serene beaches, historical significance, and the Nagore Dargah, which is a prominent pilgrimage site for both Muslims and people of other faiths. The Nagore Dargah is dedicated to the Sufi saint Hazrath Syed Shahul Hameed, and it's famous for its stunning architecture and the annual Kanduri festival, which attracts a large number of devotees.
Nagore Beach, with its picturesque coastline, offers a peaceful and scenic environment for visitors to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Bay of Bengal. It's a great place for a leisurely stroll or to simply unwind by the sea.
The best time to visit Nagore Beach and the surrounding area is during the winter months, from November to February. During this time, the weather is relatively cool and pleasant, making it ideal for beach activities and outdoor exploration. Here's why:
1. **Mild Weather:** Winter in Nagore is characterized by mild temperatures, lower humidity, and a pleasant sea breeze. Daytime temperatures usually range from 20degC to 30degC (68degF to 86degF), making it comfortable for outdoor activities.
2. **Festival Season:** The annual Kanduri festival at the Nagore Dargah usually takes place during the winter months, attracting a large number of devotees and visitors. It's a culturally rich experience to witness the festivities.
3. **Beach Activities:** The comfortable weather during winter makes it perfect for enjoying the beach. You can relax on the sandy shores, take a dip in the sea, or indulge in water sports if they are available.
4. **Clear Skies:** The winter months typically have clearer skies and less chance of rain, allowing for better visibility and pleasant sunsets by the beach.
While winter is the peak tourist season in Nagore, it's also advisable to check for specific dates related to local festivals and events, as they can add a unique cultural dimension to your visit. Keep in mind that accommodations may be in higher demand during this season, so it's a good idea to book in advance if you plan to visit during this time.
Please note that conditions and accessibility may change over time, so it's a good idea to check for the latest travel information and local updates before planning your visit.

Be alone with the sea for it is there you will find answers to questions you didn't realize exist.
I bought salvation from a man on the street. He said, Go down to the beach and let the waves wash your feet.
At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun. Every time we walk along a beach some ancient urge disturbs us so that we find ourselves shedding shoes and garments or scavenging among seaweed and whitened timbers like the homesick refugees of a long war.
After a visit to the beach, it's hard to believe that we live in a material world.
The beach is truly home, its broad expanse of sand as welcoming as a mother's open arms. What's more, this landscape, which extends as far as the eye can see, always reminds me of possibility.
One of the best destination i have ever been the beach part is the best it's clean and green, i suggest people go watch sunrise and sunset there it's feels so good to be there.
Crowded area, lots & lots of people visit this beach and spoils the eco system by throwing garbages straight away over sand & water.
Wherever you go don't throw garbages.

It is a lovely place to wander. Though it is not far away from velankanni, it is less crowded unlike other beaches. Horse ride is available at a particular time. It is clean. Less crowdy. There is a tsunami memorial park adjacent to the sea shore. Ch
