It could be very rare that a tourist to Munnar visits the market..but when you do it's a different experience..all the hustle and bustle..the people's noises and conversations..if you go with a person who knows the spot you get good quality deals too...we got a chance to step in to Munnar Market during our recent visit.. Established in 1899! Which is close to 125 years old! A few quick captures from there during our recent visit!
Good, here u will get home made chocolates good quality of tea, in some shops we will get yummy banana chips, tapioca chips etc in very cheap price
Traditional vegetable market. One can see different types of vegetables specially grown in the hilly place like Munnar.
Almost all vegetables fresh and organic available here but this market is so narrow, crowded and also no parking available
Once the sun sets, you don't have much to do in Munnar...we visited places around Munnar and returned to the city after sunset...we had time as it was early for dinner and decided to wander around rather than going to the hotel...the market was small but quentessentially indian....lots of colors and sounds...trinkets to be found along with spices, clothes chocolates and what not...we were particularly interested in marayur jaggery and found it...all in all, good place to experience hustle and bustle of a small town...

Vegetables and other groceries are kinda expensive and not that fresh when compared with the vegetables and fruit you get in Ernakulam
