Nice place for weekend visit. We went there couple of weeks ago. Art gallery was well decorated. Wall was decorated by old movies and theater poster. Inside the hall u can see different kind of antique decor items
like type writting machine etc.
Historical place.....the ambience and representation of old calcutta is magnanimous. Good place if you want to take some good photos.... Carry adhaar card and need to pay entry fee
A really nice place to visit during weekends or holidays. Provides glimpses of every nukes and corners the city has to offer. Have an hour or so in order to go through each rooms or galleries rather. Clicking pictures are allowed but videography is not. The only problem with the place is its gatekeeper. Arrogant and rude. The authorities should immediately do something about it. The ticket costs 20 rs per head for an Indian citizen. Carry a valid photo id proof with you.
The best heritage museum to visit. The place is really aesthetic and the decoration using photographs, post boxes, books etc. is really appreciable.
I personally found it very photogenic and cool.
The place is in the opposite of milenium park (as I don't know the spelling).
Ok so you have to buy tickets from online from the gate so make sure that you have online payment.
Nice place for spending short leisure time. Provide glimpse of entire kolkata. But this place is too small to represent entire bengali culture. Innovation has been identified but lack of proper maintainace has ruined some attractive masterpiece. Online ticket booking system is much more complex for the young people too.
A beautiful place in Kolkata, not very expensive to explore. Every corner holds the essence of Kolkata daily life... Bharer chaa, hand-pulled rickshaw, nouko, old photographs of howrah bridge, clay model of Maa Durga, equipments of bengali marriage, photographs of ancient Kolkata, letter box, bricks wall, a wide photo of Victoria memorial, specially a large corridor reminds me of old aristocratic houses of Kolkata. Another interesting part of this place is light & shadow and alpanas on the floor.
The architecture located at the strand road, Kolkata is a reflective of the British imperial architecture at the middle of the nineteenth century.
This place is excellent to get a glimpse of the beauty of vintage Bengali culture. It takes about an hour and half to explore the entire museum and the ambience is extremely aesthetic. Due to dim lights, we didn't find it ideal for a photoshoot also videography isn't allowed. The entry ticket costs Rs 20 per person and the payment is only accepted in UPI, cash payment isn't accepted, everyone should carry valid ID proof. Overall, it's a nice place to visit with family and friends.
This place's ambience is so beautiful, you can find our Kolkata, the city belongs to various cultures, pleasent sides. Such lovely lighting, posters, photos, the decor, everything except the wait to buy tickets, and excessive heat, sweats. But I'm sure if someone visit this place they will fell in love just like me. E Ticket is only 20 rupees.
