This was my first long trekking experience. We started trekking from the rhodomansion from 6:30 am and reached back by 11-12 or something. This is a beginner friendly path with moderately steep hills. We should cross over 6-7 hills to reach meesapulimala , but as we reach atop the clouds , the views are breathtaking. A wonderful must-try experience . We can spot waterfalls in between and even fill our bottle from it. Trekkers need only wear simple clothes to relieve some weight for climbing. Take some small snacks or chocolates as refreshments and please do not litter the place or smoke there. Cheers

A great trek organized by the Kerala Forest Dept...stayed at Rhodo Mansion..you trek up around 4kms early morning and reach Meesapulimala peak, surreal views from there, managed to spot a Nilgiri Tahr from there. Would recommend all to hire a jeep through the KFDC as the roads are very difficult to maneuver...you can either stay at the base camp(in tents) or at Rhodo mansion..the latter is much better...don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!!

The trekking was so interesting. You won't feel the sun because of cool breeze. But beware of sunburn. One side walk is about8.5 km. Climbed about 9 hills on the way to reach the top.

Honestly sensational and worth every rupee. We booked maybe a week ahead of our trip to munnar and weren't exactly sure what they meant we were to do so just in case others have the same exp - it's something like 4250inr for the dinner, camping overnight, breakfast , trek guide and lunch. We then played an extra 2000 for the 2 of us return to the camping ground in a 4 wheel drive which we tried to think of alternate ways to get to but tbh it really isn't possible and you're better off just paying for it, honestly is 1000% worth it! The 4x4 picks you up from the rose garden (kfdc florocultural centre or something I think it's called on Google maps) at 14.00 and it's an hour or something to the camp, absolutely BEAUTIFUL drive, last 10k or so v off-road kind of style. The campsite is stunning. The tents comfy enough. Food lovely. 4 or 5 men working all the time up there, not really sure what they do but make meals and adding bits to the camp and stuff, there were just the 2 of us doing it but the day before there had been 9. Lovely men. You arrive at like 15.00 and there's nothing planned all evening so bring a book or cards or something to do, they light a fire at 7 or so which is nice. It poured rain from around 4pm all night for us, stopped for lile 30mjns so we went for a walk up towards the waterfall but a fairly long evening tbh so bring something to do. Lie in in the morning and started walking after breakfast at 8. AMAZING hike. Phenomenal. Took us just under 2.5hrs to get to the top, although our guide said it usually takes 4hrs(??) Not sure if he understood what we were asking! Also I think you can get a ride to nearly the top and climb the last bit for sunrise but we wanted to hike from the bottom. I'd say any level of fitness could do it once you go at your own pace. Nothing too extreme but just so stunning. The only downer I'd say is our guide, although so so lovely, had very very little English so we didn't get to know much about the flora and fauna around the place which I was dying to ask about. We had lunch on the way down at basically a natural eternity pool - amazing!!!! Got back at 14.00 , showered and jeep back to town. Highlight of our trip, a million times better than Taj Mahal etc. Never thought id say id fond a hike as nice as Ben lomand in NZ but this is up there! **edit, forgot to say - we recommended it to a couple and they rang to book the following day and has had to closer corona. But hopefully will pass soon!

A trek worth taking, a dream place, the sunrise and the path through the nine hills are amazing. A must bucket list item for anyone visiting Munnar. The time around December can be very chilly and cold , so dress accordingly.

One of the most beautiful adventurous and largest peak in the Western ghats. More than 8km walk from the Meeshapulimala base camp. I dedicated this comment for who like adventures and also like traveling and enjoying beauty of nature. In base camp night stay is awesome and temperature felt 9degc in October.

Trek organized by KFDC is well managed. Moderate Trek (~ 4 kms one side) offers a breathtaking view. Make sure to go lite weight and ensure proper gears (to beat the cold during winter). I would recommend Neck warmers and gloves as well for those who can't bear the cold. Multiple stay options available including tents and sky cottage at the base camp and rhodo mansion at the top. Staff at the base camp are well behaved and had a great experience using the tents there. Washroom conditions are good. Decent food offered at the base camp (all included in the package) Sleeping bags are provided to those who stay in tents. Recommend carrying biscuits/ fruits during trek as the terrains may be challenging. Make sure not to spoil the serenity of the place.

Meesapulimala amazing landscape! Very different flora and eco system above 8000 feet above sea level. Can take permission through kfdc through different packages - base camp, rhodomansion accomodations or can opt for 1 day trek. It's worth a walk and I am attempting 2nd time in 5 months
