Mayel Lyang Residency - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

A magnificent experience staying in the residence. Influenced by all the things over there during the stay. They welcomed us in a warm note and since then took care of every little things at all time. The manager cum owner of the hotel provided amazingly accurate recommendations to add value in our daily commution and sight seeing experience. They organized daily dinner, and breakfast according to our choice and maintained perfect hygiene and taste. On the top they self-planned amazing deserts to win our hearts. All the stuffs were lovely in behavior and ever ready in response. Also,they never stepped back to give us additional helps and supports. We never felt like staying in a hotel, which is a rare case whatsoever. All the ambience was homely, and we enjoyed a joyous period. Lastly, we were captured by the soft, breezy behaviour of the owner, that piled up the joy even more. Won't look for other options for dwelling nights in the eastern part of Sikkim.

The kind of welcome we received here is unforgettable and especially the home cooked food by the owner gave us the vibe of a homestay. Food was amazing as well as the supporting employee Ishaq was extremely helpful and smiling. The name of the hotel means land of pure souls beyond the kachenzo ga mountains.

So i visited Mayel Lyang with my family very recently and i must say, it was a really good experience. The staffs were really helpful and polite. The food was amazing. The rooms offer you a great view of outside. And it's easy to get access to any transportation.

It was really a great stay! Good room service and food. Very systematic in everything. Rooms were really comfy and 24x7 hot water and wifi available.

Had a great stay , staff was very friendly with a lovely smile which healed up all the tiredness of the trip. Food was good homely. Overall had a great experience and happy stay

My favorite hotel in Gantok. I have stayed here in 2014. My experience was very good so I booked the same hotel again in 2023 and this time also they fulfil all my expectations . Love for Mayel Lyang

Visited this place a year ago but always it slipped my mind to put a review. The hosts Pravina and her husband are excellent in hospitality and management. We were a family group of 11 people and although there was a space crunch they accomodated us very well with extra beds and amenities. The food was superb, with veggies picked from their own farm. They have a rooftop with Foosball and table tennis where you can chill in the evening with a pint of beer or two. Cool place, cool people. Definitely worth a stay!

Pros: Very clean & spacious rooms. Helpful staff. Food - average. We ordered Chinese cuisine. Value for money for budget travelers. Cons: No generator backup. We had a power cut during the night, and there was no hot water in the morning. No car parking. It's a very narrow lane. Stopping the car in front of the hotel to board or alight can be difficult.
