This is a really good place for bird lovers as there are so many varieties of species you get to see. Since this is a dense forest, it is difficult to spot birds instantly so it is a good idea to carry a pair of binoculars along. There are no eateries or water facilities so it is best to carry your snacks and water packs. There is an entry fee you have to pay at the start of the trail and ensure you get the receipt for it. There's a lake point that has a lot of green moss in it and looks lovely because of it. There is wide open space where we were told rappelling activities happen and is place where leopards like to come. During monsoon, this place is green and there are lot of water streams one can see everywhere. There's rich flora and fauna out here. There's a machan which gives a beautiful view from the top of the forest and the city and is a wonderful photography spot. This is largely a trail and few patches of trekking but overall it is a lovely place to come with kids and family for a quick getaway within the city.

A fantastic place just 2 min from Thane City. There's no season to visit this place. Just go when you need a break from the city life. Offers fabulous view of Thane City. There are bird watching towers as well which give a superb view over the city. There's a waterfall as well that you can visit across the hill. Plus there are a few smaller waterfalls along the way to the top also. Better to go in a group. Early morning and late evening hours entries are restricted. Rightly so for safety reasons. But a very good place to take your kids as well as parents. It is well maintained as well but sadly you can see a lot of littering by visitors. Entry fees of 60 Rs. per person.

Very peaceful place and short hike. Nice to visit in rainy season to view small water trails at the top of the mountain. You can view different types of birds depending on season.

Very beautiful place. Best for hiking with kids. There are tiny waterfalls and ponds on the way to the mountain top. It takes 45 mins until the mountain top where there is a terrain and you can experience the top view of thane from here. Further 30 mins walk will lead you to a beautiful water fall and various beautiful spots where the water is flowing amidst rocks. Pack some soup, snacks and food and if you are the adventurous sort maybe you can plan a camp above where you can cook your own meal. Best place to visit during monsoon..

It takes about 2-3 hours to reach a waterfall. There is only one local shop where they serve vadapav, bhaji, maggi, tea etc which is delicious. The view is 3.5/5 but it's worth a visit.

It's a good place for daily morning walk alongside the trek. One can do daily trekking over here. The to and fro trek counts up to 5 Kms. Tiger hill is the peak point. Many enthusiasts do two to three rounds to build up their endurance. It's a great hill point in the heart of the city. There is a nominal entry fee to roam inside the area. It's a part of Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

Remember that is A bit expensive side Rs70 per person just to climb a hill and that's it. As you don't have more thing to do their. And it takes almost 2 hrs to climb back side of SGNP. No entertainment, no sitting place, almost a hill climb and thats it. Absolutely Nothing to do if you are a normal visitor. Come if you are mentally prepare to climb a hill. Come if early morning before sunrise . Carry water bottle and some snacks and a strong stick till of your height. Will help to get down. Good sports shoes, loose clothes, hand towel, visiting before sunrise are thing are mandatory things to remembered. If possible, arrange a digital, DSLR Camera for capture unique birds.
