84 Kutiya means 84 huts. It is also known as the Beatles ashram after the visit of the world-famous British band in 1968. The place is now turned into a ruin but offers so much to see and experience. The quality and design of the construction is fantastic. You can view the ruins of the duct air conditioning system constructed in the 70s. It is a highly recommended place to visit if you are in Rishikesh.
Well if you want to explore something wonderful, you can visit this place. Lots of wall painting can be spotted on site. Old era kitchen, mess, dormitory, post office, Beatles bungalow and other important things can be seen. On the top of two to three buildings you can see some kind of dome where you can climb at your own risk. The view on the top of it is worth risking. However you might get exhaust because the premises of Chaurase Kutiya is too big to wonder here and there. The place is very photogenic

Must visit place in Rishikesh with friends....if u r going solo you'll probably get bored..it is spread in vast area and part of Rajaji national park...do not forget to carry water bottle in summers.
Reaching here may take a toll on your patience, depending on the route you take. In our case, the policemen standing at a fork told us to go left, which ended up in taking us along a very harrowing mountain ride (the other route was considerably shorter, but without the view.) The ashram is right next to the banks of the Ganges, and the banks are just a wee walk away from the entrance of the ashram. Now, at 150 rupees per adult Indian ticket, you may or may not find this worth it, depending on what you have come here to see. If you are explicitly going there to visit the place where the Beatles once lived and meditated, you may find it worth the hassle. If you are going there for casual tourism, you may wonder why you really had to come here. Coming to the place itself, it is basically a partially renovated complex of ruins. You will find many of the buildings broken up and overgrown with vegetation. You will be pleasantly surprised by the sheer amount of graffiti around many of the ruined buildings, created by visiting artists from around the world: in honor of the Beatles mainly. If you climb up to the roof of one of the four-storeyed apartments to visit the four dome-shaped structures, you will be presented with a breathtaking vista of the surrounding mountains and vegetation, not mentioning the beautifully painted domes themselves. The place does leave you wondering the question, "Why was such a place even abandoned in the first place?" Tl;dr: Visit this place if you are a Beatles fan, risk it out even if you aren't.
An abandoned area which is now open to tourist. The peaceful ambience the arts and wall graffiti all around the acre long area are just amazing. The ashram is located atmost 30 minute walk from ram jhula along the ghats of river. The entry fees in 150 for indian and 600 for foreigner.but it totally worth it. The entry closes by 4 pm in the evening. There aren't any shops inside so do carry a water bottle atleast.
The place was visited by the band 'The Beatles'. They visited the place to meditate within the silence of that place. Now it's a tourist attraction. There are graffiti, paintings, and many more. Adjoining to that there is a sanctuary too. The best time to go here is in the morning. The ashram is situated near the holy GANGA river. And also it's about 1km from the 'Ram Jhula'.
