visited the Maharaja Sawai Mansingh museum and was impressed with the collections exhibited. The museum is located inside the City Palace in Jaipur and is dedicated to the life and legacy of Maharaja Sawai Mansingh II. The displays were well organized and thoughtfully curated. The museum showcased different aspects of the life of Maharaja Sawai Mansingh II, including his hunting memorabilia, musical instruments, paintings, and photographs of his Coronation ceremony. The museum also included exhibits of the royal family's costumes, jewelry, and furniture, which was impressive. The collection was beautifully displayed, and the exhibits sparkled with their royal grandeur. The audio guide and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful, providing insightful information about the exhibits and the history of the museum.

Very well maintained museum. Built in the 18th Century by the rulers of Jaipur the City Palace is a gem to watch. The palace is now turned into a heritage hotel and a museum. I really loved the architecture and the intrinsic details in it. The peacock door is a famous attraction here. There are many artifacts belonging to Sawai Man Singh and his family. This is the place where Lord Mountbatten's swearing in ceremony took place. There's always a rush no matter at what time you visit the palace. The parking is very close by and so is the market and street food shops. The descendants of the former rulers of Jaipur still reside in one part of this palace.
The City Palace, Jaipur was established at the same time as the city of Jaipur, by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who moved his court to Jaipur from Amber, in 1727. Jaipur is the present-day capital of the state of Rajasthan, and until 1949 the City Palace was the ceremonial and administrative seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The Palace was also the location of religious and cultural events, as well as a patron of arts, commerce, and industry. It now houses the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, and continues to be the home of the Jaipur royal family. The royal family of Jaipur is said to be the descendants of Lord Rama. The palace complex has several buildings, various courtyards, galleries, restaurants, and offices of the Museum Trust. The Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust looks after the Museum, and the royal cenotaphs known as chhatris.
Nothing as compared to fees they charge. Have seen thousand times better museums in much lesser price. Jaipur is shamelessly commercialized tourist place.
Learned a lot. Got a guide who was very well explaining every point of history. But you have to bargain as they as for irrelevant fees you can observe cover all of it in around 2 to 3 hours.
The City Palace in Jaipur was built between 1729 and 1732 under the reign of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and later additions were made to the palace complex till the 20th century by his successors of the Kachwaha Rajput clan
