It was a nice setup. Visited here at night. The view of the museum building at night was a feast for eyes which was decorated with coloured lights. They charge rs 50 per head for the ticket. Inside the museum hall there are different types of galleries which have a collection of arms, carpets, blue pottery, sculptures, and many more. The palace in which the museum is set up is also a piece of artwork.
One of the best museums!! If you are interested in history and ancient collection then this is a must visit for you.
It has all the ancient things from coins to armoury.
Plus the place is well maintained.
Add it to your bucket list for your next Jaipur visit.
It's a great place to visit in Jaipur. it is the oldest Museum of Rajasthan.
Named after king Albert Edward during his visit to Jaipur in 1880s.
Very unique collection of crafts, old coins, jewellery. It also had a mummy (2300yr old Egyptian) , so no need to go Egypt.
Jokes apart, it's a must visit place in Jaipur.
It took us around 2-3 hours to explore whole place.
Guides are also available. They seems to pretty useful in sharing the history of place.
Suggestion for Govt. They need to increase the lights in some areas in Museum. Looks dull. The good architecture of places sits behind the low lights.
For anyone fascinated by history, this museum might offer a good insight into the history of Jaipur. Few things you'll find inside in random order: swords, rifles, shields, old coins dating up to 1000 BC. You can also see a real life mummy here!
I'd recommend getting a guide here if you're short on time as they can take you through the items and their significance quickly.
Very beautiful at night. We got in for free because we had bought the composition ticket from Amber palace. It's very beautiful but towards the end it does get a little boring. Overall, this place was my #2 in Jaipur! I would recommend coming here.
