Shri Neelkantheshwar Mahadev Mandir is situated 30 km away from Rishikesh. This temple of lord Shiva is very sacred. It's basically about your peace & belief system. The vally of Himalaya is panoramic from here. There are many tourist places available and many more ways for picnics are available like jumping, rowing, camping, trekking etc. It is recommended only for summer. If you visit there in the pawan month of savan I recommend you all to go barefoot in the nature you fell the real peace in the leap of Himalayas.
To reach the place we've to drive for more 20-25 kilometres over hilly roads. The place has it's own glory. You can find lots of stores for buying pooja ingredients, fooding and lodging, and ofcourse the scenery is beautiful . The temple opens at 11AM. Getting the Darshan of Shiva Lingam is a great feeling in itself. The Shiva Lingam has a great story and it was established by Lord Shiva himself.

Very good and clam place to visit. Parking is a bit problem and so are the roads. But one who enjoys nature must visit this place and enjoy the journey.
The facilities to travel is very good. The rent for single person from lakshman jhula stop to NEELKANTH temple is 150 with share taxi. If you rent your own taxi than you have to give 1100 rupee. And the route is very good condition. This is the main holy place where you can connect to the Lord shiva.
This temple is a well known tourist place. Just like other temples, this one is no exception when it comes to crowd and queues. You have to wait in queues that end at the opening on the other side of the temple but the good thing is that the queue always keeps moving which says a lot about the staff. The shiva linga is the best and everyone gets chance to do abhishek here provided you buy the necessary from the stores outside. Also, the temple is located on a hill that requires you to trek for a kilometre and a half or take a jeep to reach it. The hill is not steep and so it's not difficult to scale. Also if i may say so, the view from on top of the hill is spectacular.
You will see nos. of breathtaking mesmerising views on the way to Neelkanth Mahadev temple. A must visit place. This temple is 22 km. from Ram Jhula (you have to walk little) on top of the hill. You will get sharing vehicle (Mahindra Maxx) from Ram Jhula. Sharing vehicle charge is only Rs.150/- per head (included return fare). You can also book a cab from same location, it will cost you Rs.1100/-. It takes around 45 to 50 mins to reach one side. Wait time on hill top is max 1 hr, if all sharing cab people come before time to then cab driver will return immediate from there. Hope this review will help.
