Lohagarh Fort was built by Jat ruler Maharaja Suraj Mal. The main feature of this fort is that it is made of mud and none of the rulers was able to win the fort. British attacked the fort four times but could not win it. The fort is very beautiful and is a must-visit if a tourist comes to visit Rajasthan.

Lohgarh Fort was the seat of power of the erstwhile Maharaha of Bharatpur. It has 12 Gates and a Moat all around including one with deep waters. Most part is now converted into a Museum that houses exquisite antique statues and paintings. A worthwhile visit !

Bharatpur is a beautiful city and it's major attraction is Lohagarh Fort. It is surrounded by a water body. Ticket price is just Rs20 per person. Fort is very big but some parts are not open or may be they aren't renovated. As you enter, here comes the fascinating view much like of a palace and on both left and right side you'll see very beautiful and historical artifacts (pillars, statues of God). A mesuem is there in which you'll see different types of weapons and some of the guns are literally very very big. A pictorial representation of the rulers who ruled over Bharatpur. Overall, it's a good place to visit.

Lohagarh fort is located in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. This fort was built by Kunwar Maharaja Surajmal of the Jat dynasty on 19 February 1733. The British attacked this palace many times but could not win. That is why it is also known as Ajeya Durg. The specialty of this fort is that there is water all around it. The outer walls of this fort are still very strong and may be more than 10 feet thick.

I would definitely give 5 stars for the fort's grandeur and beauty, but here is why my experience was not all that it could have been. The time that I visited the Lohagarh fort (December 2021), only the entrance hall of it was open. The stairs and corridors to access its interiors were closed and locked. The accessible areas of the fort complex, though limited, were built afresh in modern construction, using new stones and tiles, hence I could witness no conservation on the monument. The moment a heritage site gets equiped with new lighting, statues and materials, for me, it loses its charm. Despite all this, accessing the fort from the road and getting safe parking is easy. The people around the areas are polite and helpful, to guide with directions as well. The story of the king is inscribed, so you can get the required information while visiting the fort.

This one was a pleasant surprise. As a fort, it is comparatively new- the current structure being built in the early 19th century. But they have interesting displays in the museum. There are a few good photo points. Good place to spend 1-1.5 hours.
