One of the oldest Irani restaurant in Dadar. Their kheema pav and Russian cutlet is a must have. Love the chutney they serve.
Not enough space but that has a charm in itself.
Great place to explore exquisite non-veg menu around Dadar area! We tried Kepsa Biryani there, and it was worth it. Our order took some 15-20 minutes time for preparation but it was definitely worth waiting for. Tastebuds were delighted satisfactorily and quantity is also adequate to cater large groups. We ordered one chicken kepsa and one veg kepsa. Definitely recommend to every foodie out there!
Best Place for some authentic Irani Chai and Bun Maska... Must visit
Also Try The Kheema Pav its Mouth watering...
Ps. Carry Cash as the place accept only Cash
Good old Persian cafe located near Dadar's Shivaji Park.
Had Parsi 3 egg Burji. Super taste
Visited this traditional Irani restuarant through recommendation of friends and online review...We ordered the following.
1. Keema pav- we had more expectations with this..however we were a bit disappointed with the outcome of taste..Quality was mediocre.
2. Chicken Tikka biryani- Pure bombay style traditional met expectation with taste quality and quantity.
3. Rajni Bhurji - mixture of chicken, egg bhurji and egg yolk and cheese. Totally worth for its taste.
4. Chai and bun massage- nothing like it..the best ever feeling to have
the place is shabby. the food is good. the waiter was good. i had mutton kheema and omelette with pav. all food items were good. no complaints about the food. but the place is very poorly maintained. i know these irani restaurants try to keep a retro theme, but that doesn't mean you don't spend a penny on the interiors.
My experience with this restaurant was pretty good. I had chicken pulao, mutton salli boti and tandoori roti.
Mutton preparation was so tasty. Mutton was cooked nicely and potato chips slices added more flavor to it!
Chicken pulao was also very good in taste.
Food was not at all spicy. It may look spicy but it's not.
I loved the fact that Tandoori roti was of ata and no maida.
Waiters are very helpful. They will advise you what to order if you are confused.
There could be a line of people outside to sit inside as this is a pretty small restaurant.
Tl;dr- I would highly recommend Light of Bharat for its food, especially mutton and egg. But make sure you carry cash and preferably get a takeaway.
I found this gem of a restaurant through Kunal Vijayakar's food show, and decided to give it a go since it's so close to my house. Don't be fooled by the appearance of this place - the food is absolutely delicious. It's one of those places that has an old school charm and still preserves the Parsi/Arabic food tradition. I got a Kheema double decker, a bheja fry and chicken kepsa biryani and all of them were fantastic. I would go out on a limb and say that the bheja was one of the best I've had. I had kepsa for the first time and was immensely pleased with it. There are two downsides - the restaurant by itself isn't the cleanest and they don't accept anything but cash.
