A very nice, family friendly guesthouse. If you are looking for a stay away from crowded market, hustle all around then this guesthouse would be perfect for you. The owner herself cooks food to make it authentic, along with the ever so hardworking Yasir, who is a genuine all rounder as a staff member. Market is not so far, just a 10 mins walk, but the serenity you would experience here is unmatched. Their garden with many fruits and vegetables is cherry on the cake.
I had a chance to stay a few times in this very comfortable place called Leh Stumpa. The moment you enter here , you are away from all the hustle and bustle of city life.
Beautiful Rose's Welcome's you with vegetables garden and Apple garden on the side.Comfortable and specious clean rooms with attached bathrooms with running hot and cold water all the time with Solar panels. All rooms have a very good view to the garden and the blue sky.
Tenshing and his family is very careful of your requests and requirements so is the staff full of curtsy and information with smile.
Good inside and outside dining as per weather and finger licking food.
Reserve in advance to enjoy the place and it's ambiance as it is in high demand.
The perfect place to stay within leh city. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food is exceptional(made from fresh home grown vegetables). Location wise just 12-15 mins walking distance from leh market. The best part of stay is the hospitality, every one in the family and staff is super friendly.Yasir bhai is always cheerful and ready to help.Highly recommended
The place is run by a super sweet family. They are very welcoming and food tastes incredible. Aunty grows her own vegetables and cooks them for her guests. Stanzin is supportive and helps in the best way possible. I would love to stay there whenever I visit Leh. The place is hardly 1km from Leh market and you can see Shanti Stupa.
Loved this place. We stayed in the month of Sept.
They really serve good breakfast and fresh fruits.
Things to improve - It is very difficult to call the room boy/assistant if you need anything as the reception desk is mainly managed by them internally. So, we need to go out and call them from kitchen or their home if you need anything.
They share the contact number though which is a good thing.
Best thing - They grow their own vegetables and fruits.
Rooms are neat and tidy including washrooms.
I stayed in Leh Stumpa for about 3 weeks (on and off) and I had a great stay! The hosts, Stany and Rigzin (who also cooks for guests) are delightful. They are generous and helpful and also fun to talk to. Nasser took care of all my needs and was always super polite and nice.
The rooms are clean, functional and at least my room had really nice views of Shanti Stupa and of the snowy peaks. Some rooms have balconies and most of the time there is hot water in the shower (solar). Wi-Fi is not always strong (like most places in Leh) but mostly adequate. Leh Stumpa has a very nice garden, which provides fresh vegetables, and a tranquil seating area in the shade of apple and apricot trees.
The location is about 15 minutes walk from the main bazaar, which makes it quiet and exactly what I was looking for.
This homestay was too homely for me,the treated us like own family,Specially Manager Yeasir vai is a well behaved, friendly person.
Food was delicious, highly recommended stay.
Leh Stumpa made for a very comfortable stay during our Ladakh travels with gorgeous views of their garden. Stanys and Rigzin are lovely hosts, and Yaseer who is always on his toes made sure we got everything we needed during our stay.
The rooms are very clean and spacious. The food is just what you'd need at the end of a tiring day. If you wish to taste traditional Ladakhi dishes, let Rigzin know in advance and also do request a visit to their traditional kitchen :)
