Lake side name forced imagination towards higher side of expectations. But last part of the name Canteen means a restaurant provided by an organisation such as a college, factory, or company for its students or staff (or it means a small water bottle, used by soldiers or campers). So it's not a luxury resort's luxurious restaurant. Now look at the food and rate. Fairly usual food but rates pinch. Enough scope for improvement. Four star with expectation to improve.
The place is located very near to the front lake Inside NEHU so obviously "lake side canteen" near gate 2. In my opinion if only for the vibe and the view then the canteen gets to be a really good one, but in terms of the food and drinks I think it's below average not much to say as I have only had their snack which stopped me from having their main courses. Maybe for the students to hang out and chill and enjoy the lake view it's a good spot but maybe not that good in terms of the food. The customer service is ok and the seating arrangements too is fine.
I have been there quite a number of times. The foods are okay. Had an unpleasant encounter with one staff attitude (the man who sat at the cash counter), the way he talk and respond was outrageously blunt as if we come to seek free food. Man needs to be dismissed and forever shun.
This is small canteen in NEHU campus serving tea, coffee, meals and snacks. Quality and price are just ok.
