Stumbled upon this beautiful in-house restaurant run by Fatima aunty by the name Lafayette, in Chorao Island. A huge 30 year old tree and a passion fruit plant overlooking a beautiful rustic old Goan house, Fatima aunty welcomed us into her home and so did her two cutie doggos. Having her freshly cooked traditional Goan meal while sitting in her quaint veranda, we could time travel to the days when most Goan restaurants were run by locals from home. She was so warm and made the homely experience enriching with her deliciously cooked food - prawns curry, rice & fish cutlets. Absolutely loved the fish cutlets! There is no menu and it's better to call her in advance if you're planning to visit her in Chorao Islands, ours was very last minute and she still managed to fill us with a hearty meal. Highly recommend visiting her for an old-world charm & wholesome experience.
Super place to have home made food & drinks. Fatima has been running this place for 37 years now. Open 365 days minus Gandhi Jayanti & Good Friday. Best is to call a day in advance for specific food orders.
First the positives, aunty was very friendly, food was tasty. But in terms of the minimal service and ambience definitely a no go place. I would stress that in terms of the minimal quantity of food the rates are very exorbitant! Meal for two with just a couple of beers came to Rs 3000 plus,Definitely avoidable.
The caring hospitality of Fatima along with great taste and that too inspite of us reaching her restaurant at 3:30pm (when most or probably all places are shut for siesta) was fantastic! And the scenic land route and the return journey by driving our car into a ferry made the whole experience beyond memorable... Thank you Fatima... Lafayette is on my goto list whenever I go to Goa henceforth !
Loved the homely food and the hostess, Fathima. A true Goan experience is what she gives you.....
Greedy lady. Pls check for price before ordering as their is no menu. For a simple basic small portion she can ask for unreasonable money.
Authentic Goan food and experience, unfortunately inclusive of being ripped off on the cost of rice which was the same as the cafreal or sorpotel (we know how much a rice portion should be and what the price of local rice is!) the unnecessary hidden cost (not declared till you have the bill in your hand) is the only thing that overshadows a lovely meal and experience.
Nice lazy laid back afternoon spent at this Goan home with cold beer and some very delicious chicken cafreal, pork sorpotel and fish cutlets.
I had an excellent experience doing my 200 hour yoga teacher's training. The atmosphere and food are excellent and the teachers are inspiring, committed and genuinely lovely people. Soaking in the lush greenery was rejuvenating not only to the body a
Very Devine and beautiful temple. It's always well maintained . The richness of Goddess Is reflected in the overall ambience. Parking available. There is no toilet facility.
Wonderful place reacheble by ferry. The ferry ride is also the cheapest on this planet. The island has a wonderful green cover & traditional houses. I think outsiders cant purchase property here to preserve the heritage value.
You won't get a chance to mold your thought into negation, once to step into the vibes of Ashram. A stunning view would help you to blossom into serenity.
