Visited this place a few years ago. It is a small beautiful homestay kind of a place with around 10-12 exquisitely designed rooms. Run by a French lady, this is a very peaceful space, and to ensure it remained so they have restricted entry only to persons above 12 yrs age. An ideal honeymoon stay as i experienced it.
Woow cossy nice rooms and good experience and warm service. Rooms are done with passion. It's very near to beach and near to city. Best place to stay with family and group of friends as well.
Apart from the location (no beach view though), everything else was an utter disappointment and definitely not worth the price. The rooms don't have basic necessities like toiletries, quick beverage sachets, etc. The complimentary breakfast is "bleh" with 2-3 options that deserve a skip. Overall not a value for money stay.
I am sorely disappointed with my experience at La closerie. My family (2 senior citizens, 2 adults and 2 kids) chose to stay at this boutique hotel anticipating a great , unique and heritage experience. The infrastructure is surely unique and gives you the feel of the French. The rooms are nice, the beds are super tall which was a bit odd and is definitely not conducive to senior citizens. There are no lifts and restaurant is 2 floors up - again not at all recommended from a senior citizen point of view. There are no common toilets at the ground floor and the only available one is again 2 floors up. No Bell boy which meant we had to carry all our luggage up ourselves. The person at the reception helped a bit but we did all the heavy lifting. Water stopped mid way during bath, after informing , the motor was switched on. Breakfast at the restaurant was very basic with only one main item (upma) rest (bread, cake, and Vada) was cold. Toaster needed to be held down until the bread got toasted. One person to cook, serve and clean. Didn't seem staffed enough. We requested for an extended check out for one out of the two rooms for my parents and kids to be able to rest and use the washroom. It was declined stating more guests were expected. 5 hours later, rooms were empty and no guests. My mom (76 years ) old needed to use the bathroom urgently and she was asked to climb 2 floors up by the person at the reception, while there were rooms available on lower floors, with no sensitivity at all to her age or her physical condition. This was the last straw to my patience. After having spent Rs21000 at the place for 1 night and 2 rooms, I expected better service and bit more empathy. I walked next door to the bodega restaurant and without a blink of an eye they directed us to the washroom and we had not given them a single penny of our business. Only recommended for location.
This was a last-minute booking, and we had no expectations. But we were amazingly thrilled to see the accommodation. Major pros to this are the location. It is located right in the center of White Town, on the Instagram famous street :). Walkable to the promenade. This is suitable for couple. Cozy setting but do not expect anything out of ordinary. Simple, basic home stay. There is a pool as well, but we did not use it. Would recommend this to couple rather than family with kids.
We were looking for a sea view room and got it as search result, but its not. Rooms are of antique touch. We chose a pool view room, but the view was not worth it. It has got a small pool. Its a small setup, maintenance and all is fine.
It's a great set up and right in the heart of the city of Pondicherry. You can easily take a walk to the end of the road and come right around the promenade. I love the indo-franco heritage feel to this place, with it vintage looking furniture and it high roofed columns in every corner. As for the rooms, they are simple and basic with comfortable beds and fitted with Air conditioning and fans. The house is fitted with an accommodating pool that makes this place something that you could call home even if it was for a vacation. I loved the staff, they were super helpful right from the front desk to the cook and they took care of us really well with some delicious Indian and continental meals served in their restaurant. Overall a great experience and we look forward to returning her again!
I had a disappointing experience at the property. The wifi was practically nonexistent, struggling to support even a couple of devices despite the limited occupancy. There were also a lack of plug points near the bed and in general, making charging and working a hassle. The property's beauty was overshadowed by these connectivity and functionality issues - from being unable to make calls to the absence of hooks in the bathroom. Despite the helpful and courteous staff, the overall experience was quite frustrating. All in all it was a huge waste of money for me. Your response speaks volumes : and I guess seeing it will be enough and stop others from booking your property - a"You're not an internet provider" the attitude in the sentence speaks volumes and now I can tell what the management is like. And as an influencer I will be posting about all of this on Instagram as well. Thank you

We had a great stay at Bay Stays! The room was clean, had a cute design, and was affordable with a fantastic location. Our host, Vignesh was very helpful. However, I do have a concern about the towels we used as they left a white cast on our clothes.
The property is beautiful with a chique look. The interiors are a urban and upbeat with colours that are palatable to the eyes and we'll coordinated. The service is impeccable and the in-house dining is worth its money not to mention it's tantalizing
