L D Institute of Indology - Research institute in Ahmedabad - Ahmadabad, India

Visited its museum on 16th April 2023, which happened to be the collaboration day for 'Museum of Wheels' project, under GOI, between CSMVS Mumbai and LD Institute of Indology Ahmedabad. They had a diverse range of collections (though few in quantity, but its a bus, so its alright) ranging from Ghaznavid to Mughal and even IVC era. The coins, royal artifacts and handicraft textiles were exhibited beautifully, some were even Braille Tactile Painting, inscription (Brahmi), figurines and ancient jewelries- good for the bling visitors from Andh Jann Mandal nearby. Kudos to them , and LD museum can learn likewise to introduce more interactive artifacts which we can feel by touch. Unfortunately the LD museum prohibited photography strictly. I recommend CSMVS representative in bus to collaborate with RBI monetary museum of Mumbai in this remote long distance initiave of GOI, as coins are much kore portable then oyher artifacts (plus, numismatics is highly fascinated yet ignored by lay masses)

The places serves as a back of the museum with the terrace used as a pavilion in front of the institute.

This institute houses one of the largest collection of Jain manuscripts in Asia. Peaceful environment.The campus also has a beautiful Jain temple with nice carvings.

Architecture and designing of this building done by Architect B.V.Doshi. I'm a designer and I visited this place for architectural and photography purpose. Staff was so co-operative & permitted me for documentation of there.
