Exceptional stay. This place and its hosts made our stay in Kumarakom unforgettable. The traditional wooden house is very charming and super clean (definitely raising Indian standards to another level!), bikes are available which changed everything for us, and the surrounding backwaters are just stunning. And let us not forget the breakfast which is incredibly delicious. The hosts were kind and very helpful. Best value for money I had in my numerous trips to India.
We had a great stay here. The building is really unique and beautiful and the owners are really friendly and do everything possible to help you have a great stay including helping to organise onward travel and activities in and around Kumarakom. The food was excellent and plentiful. The room was clean and comfortable. In terms of location, you are surrounded by nature. There are walks/massages/boat trips/restaurants nearby and it is a pleasant place to slow down and soak up the local village life.

Staying at wood castle felt like visiting family. The hosts are amazing and the rooms beautiful. We doubled the length of the stay we initially planned! They can help arrange great local experiences and have cool antique artifacts to see in their private collection.
Our experience with Wood castle was absolutly amazing! We arrived late and we were very warmly welcomed by the owner. He and hiswife are incredibly friendly, helpful and make you feel like being part of the family. The food was amazing! Room was lovley, warm, clean and you could hear soothing bird singing in the morning. The owner helped us to arrange our further trip, was very helpful and we are very grateful for everything. We highly recommend staying there.
This is an amazing guesthouse. Everything was very clean, quiet, and peaceful. You have your own private balcony area. It's perfect for relaxation and enjoying the Kumarakom atmosphere. We were treated with really great and caring customer service, and we felt like family. Ashwin and everyone were really great. They helped us navigate and explore the area. We will miss the awesome breakfasts and tea!

We had this mid-sized boat to ourselves (a group of 4). It was nice mostly sunny day so we enjoyed the view from top. The crew were very friendly and navigated the boat at a nice leisurely pace. My wife even took a short nap in one of the bedrooms.

We absolutely loved our experience. We booked a 1 bedroom houseboat with A/C in the bedrooms. It was spacious and clean and the bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with an English toilet (no toilet paper only a water jet so take that if you need it!).
