Venice of kottayam. The food is great.. Travel in a houseboat is ideal for a one day trip. You can visit the bird sanctuary, pathiramanal, vaikom, cherthala, alappuzha in a single boat ride. Those who love backwaters and seafood must visit kumarakom.
Great experience. The ambiance of the place is extravagant, keeps everyone relaxed and enjoyable. Boating through the lake was one of the best experience in there and also the sea food was delicious at nearby hotel. Different types of boats are available with respect to the number of passengers to be travelled. The beauty of kumarakom can be viewed on the way through kanals to the kayal.

We absolutely loved our experience. We booked a 1 bedroom houseboat with A/C in the bedrooms. It was spacious and clean and the bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with an English toilet (no toilet paper only a water jet so take that if you need it!).

We had this mid-sized boat to ourselves (a group of 4). It was nice mostly sunny day so we enjoyed the view from top. The crew were very friendly and navigated the boat at a nice leisurely pace. My wife even took a short nap in one of the bedrooms.
