Kolahoi Green Heights - Hotel in Gulmarg, Forest Block - Baramulla, India

Comfortable hotel with central heating and a gourmet restaurant where they serve good complimentary breakfast. Rooms are small but very clean and adequate for a couple. Modern bathroom fittings and running hot water is available. Well maintained premises exuding an old world charm.

We stayed for 2 nights. The location is excellent, within a 10 minute walk to what may be Gulmarg's main tourist attraction, the Gondola station. Some of the rooms give an excellent view of the snow capped mountains. The staff is very responsive and patient as well as being very accommodative. Food in the restaurant is very good and the staff is quick to provide fresh and hot naan, roti, paratha or pooris ..as needed. That said, the hotel is showing its age in some parts; the wear and tear is visible. The in-room heaters, while excellent, took some getting used to. The hotel appears to have a schedule when they are turned on. With the result that we spent one night with no heater...but probably because we turned on the heater at the wrong time.

I've not stayed in this hotel but will give 5 star rating. Me and my wife were on the way to visit Gulmarg Gondola and suddenly I had a nature's call. Checked the place and the restrooms were not open as we were a bit early. So we decided to go to this cafe and have a tea so that we could also use the washroom there. As we sat on the cafe, the waiter came and asked if we were their guest. We shrugged our shoulders. He then told us the buffet facility is for their guests only and if we want to use it we need to pay 1000 rupees. We said we don't need an entire buffet but just needed a tea and were about to leave. He said it was fine and went to make tea for us. Meanwhile I asked him where the restroom was and made use of it. After having tea we asked him how much we need to pay and he politely said with a smile that we need not pay anything. It was a big surprise for us as people over there were looting tourists like us for even simple services. I handed him a 100 rupee note and he politely refused. I don't know about their rooms but this man's service was exceptional.5 stars for service

A lovely place to have a good stay, very good rooms, good amenities and excellent food both in quality and quality. The FnB team headed by Mehboob are doing an excellent job in anticipating their customers wants. A couple of suggestions to make this an even lovelier place. Need to point out to the customers that they a well equipped gym as also a recreation room. The heating should be on a low 'flame' throughout the day. ( it is wonderful when the heating is well on) All in all a wonderful place to stay with a great ambience, wonderful staff and location.

This is a best view hotel. Most of movie scenic views are found here. Though the hotel is old but well maintained and too good. Food is also nice. Staff are polite and supportive. Over all our stay was pleasant and happy.

Awesome Property. Good rooms and great location. Housekeeping, Food and Hospitality was top notch. They have a in-house restaurant Samovar. Amazing ambiance and service. Thumbs-up to Amir, Imran and entire team of Kolahoi Green Heights Gulmarg. Keep up the good work.

We checked in to Kolahoi Green Gulmarg on 5th Oct. the service starting from the reception was absolutely shady and rubbish. We were given rooms 214 and 215. With no initiative from the staff, we ended up carrying the bags ourselves to the rooms. Onwards, we learnt that the heaters in the rooms were not operational, upon which a request by us was made to have that sorted. Until 10 pm we patiently awaited yet the sorting obviously never happened, thus we requested for a room change. Re-allocated were rooms 201 and 205, and unfortunately we found out that the bedding was filthy and had not been changed. Naturally, this left us wondering whether even the towels were changed. Thankfully the staff on the night shift were helpful and agreed that bed linens of these rooms were not changed by the day shift staff. Perhaps the hotel may be decent and recommended, however, the customer service requires training in hospitality and communication especially being in the service industry.

Our stay was nearly perfect. The interior of the property is amazing, rooms are spacious, have all necessary amenities and supplies including kettle and hair dryer. The staff is very polite, kind and attentive, always ready to serve you with a smile. The food was good, specially because they served us Jain food at breakfast as well as a la carte dinner without any hassle. The property doesn't have too much of an open area as it may seem from the photos but it didn't bother us. It is located 300m from the Gondola and 1.2kms from the market. Fyi, the premium rooms don't have a view and I wouldn't recommend them. The only reason for reducing a star is the soft beds which were unexpected given the price you pay. Everything else was perfect and I would definitely recommend staying here. PS: we stayed here in mid-July 2023 with a family of 7, no kids.
