When I visited back in 2014, heaven resides there.Nature will embrace you and you will feel the peace around you. I recently visited in 2019,the place has changed a lot.The colour of the lake has changed,so as the greeneries has vanished.This happened mainly due to a resort developed over there. But still,this place is love.Some pictures of 2014 visit.
A very natural and calm destination of our incredible PURULIA in every season and month. There the lake is surround by little green hills which add beautiful scenic view in it. Specially in autumn you just fall in love with the scenic beauty of this place. Boating is available.The condition of the approach road (to the lake) from the main road should be better.
The khoirabera Dam in Purulia is a remarkable example of natural beauty. Nestled amidst the scenic landscapes of Purulia. The tranquil waters of the reservoir provide a calming backdrop, perfect for picnics, photography, or simply unwinding. If you are staying in ajodhya hill top then u have to book a car for sightseeing in khoirabera dam.its approx distance 20 km from hill top in this route u can visit charida or mukhosh gram. One can't help but appreciate the ecological importance of the dam, as it not only serves as a water source but also supports the local flora and fauna. If you're lucky, you might spot some migratory birds or small animals around the reservoir, making it a delight for wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers. U can stay in khoirabera dam eco resort.
This dam falls under the Khairabera Irrigation Scheme. The road is very narrow here so wide cars face many problems, also when two cars come from the opposite side. The place is not well maintained. Kayaking services are offered by the nearby resorts but they are not available all the time. And this place is also situated at a very distant place from the other spots.
Chiled place, less tourist, sit beside the lake into the forest, dip your legs in the water, roast some chicken and enjoy with your beer.
The best place of purulia according to me. Pros- Excellent view . Mesmerizing sunset. Peaceful place Good for photography. Safe place cause no steep place is there. Parking space is ample. Cons- Road is very very narrow. Takes a lot of time to reach. Food there is not so much tasty but you can try for sure. Try to bring water for drinking.
