Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 - CBSE School in Port Blair - South Andamans, India

I loved this school the most.....i studied there class 10th and 11th i.e from 2010-2012..... Teachers were very helpful there......quiet area around the school. Big play ground is present but in most of the time of the year its filled with big grasses due to the rain.......even its in the island i think this school was better than the mainland schools in which i studied.....there is no partiality done by the teachers here.

Was there from 1967 to 1970 from class 9 to 11 One of the best times, dedicated teachers and students. We still had time for sports apart from studies. The school used to be opposite Annapurna, old MP school compound. I was in the first batch to pass out from there, We were 3 boys and 2 girls in that batch, imagine now.

Good infrastructure, local teachers are performing much better than mainlander faculty, minor changes is needed some area, some teachers suffering from egoistic issue. The present principal Mrs C Raji is taking great initiative to improve the each and every sector. The best part is the one huge playground...one small open ground..one morning assembly ground. The school have sufficient laboratory. Library has a scope to improve.

Class of 1987. I was here from 1983 9th to 1986 finished 11th std. I miss my classmates Joy Vargheese, Piyush Agarwal, Sardar, Ujjal, Pathania, Avinaash, Chackho, Umesh, Sanjay from HP, Sanjay Biswas, Mehta, Tarun (traced him in CIT Coimbatore) teachers Mrs Roy, Mathew teacher couple, PT master Singh, a teacher from Bihar who taught my class just before I left(she was my neighbor), Chemical lab assistant from TN, (Traced my junior Ravi Vardarajan in Chennai). Boys spoke little to the girls then. I still remember the girls though. A good school then. Lots of students were into YGFile and Brilliants for IIT. We played a lot of football and had other games Kabadi was one. I loved the library and read so many popular novels then. Port Blair was new for my parents and siblings and we later lived close up the hill in front of the school close to the public library. For a while I came to school in an army truck sitting with Mrs Roy in the front seat. Later I would walk down the hill to school. It used to rain a lot throughout the year. Classes were ok. Science was very good. I got state level rank in 10th standard in 2 subjects. The island itself has a charm and life was really slow there then. Hope I meet my classmates, truckmates and neighbors some day. Sekhar.

I did my 10th from KV 1,Port Blair and I had some amazing experience during my study time.All the faculty was very nice,helpful. All and all the school is the best in the Islands:)I really miss the school...

I am RAVI P working in CPWD Port Blair. The present Principal Mrs. C Raji madam has taking care of each and every student in all respect. If they are in school, We no need to bother about our children.

Nice location plus, focus on children holistic development. Children enjoy the funday in School.....overall very nice..
