A small and beautiful Railway station which is located at the foothills of famous tourist station Nainital. Nice waiting hall food court, 30 min free fast wifi, well connected by Bus , Auto. Reservation office outside of railway station. Overall good

The retiring rooms & dormitories at Kathgodam railway station are way too good to be charging a meagre sum of money for the faciliies they offer. I had stayed in the dormitory and it was just for Rs 95 (12 hours slot). I had very low expectations to begin with, but I had no other option since I had to catch an early train in the morning, so staying as close to the station as possible was preferable. To my surprise, the beds were neat, clean & tidy, with proper arrangements for privacy of the individual. The linens provided were neatly washed too. There was also a common sitting area where sofas were kept if you wanted to sit for a while. The toilets and bathrooms were very hygienic as well. Being a man of few words, I'm probably underselling the expereince here. I guess you would have to be there to believe it. My advice is, book a retiring room at KGM blindly if you ever visit the place and are looking for a place to stay. Dormitories/retiring rooms are located on the first floor and the entry (right side of the main entry gate) as well the registration desk (at the platform) are located on the periphery of concourse.

Beautiful railway station, just like LAP of hills... This is the last railway station for connecting kumaun hills like nainital, ranikhet, almora, pithoragarh etc. Parking is spacious, Temperature is ambient, Rush is normal, Small shops available inside railway station,

Very convenient, apt, easily accessible and clean station in Uttarakhand. It is best possibly located near to Gola dam for travelling to Nainital, Haldwani, and nearby areas. Station has all required facilities available except groceries and medicine store which might be required by travellers. Staff is minimum and optimised for resourcing requirements. Very easily accessible from main Highway joining many interesting tourist places. Prepaid taxi stand is best to approach in case of cab /taxi needs.
