Small Gallery with some antiques dating back to 1CE. One can visit the museum completely in 15mins. You can find traditional arts here and some Tibetan Arts. There is actual Gold on painting here. You can walk or take auto till here from dharamshala bus stand. You can get offline ticket price when you get here, the price rs50 for Indians and rs200 for foreigners. The lady on reception is very kind. You can even buy souvenir from here.
Unless you are a total lover of historical art please don't go. I'm not sure if the art lovers will also like it. Very small and basic museum with nothing exceptional. They charge extra for photography which is much worth for properly keeping these arts. Please must pay extra for photography. It took us max 20 min to go through the entire museum. The staff is very friendly and interested. It was a purely utilisation of valuable time and money. This place is dedicated exclusively for maintaining and preserving Kangra art and culture which has become extinct now . Its a must visit place , a peep into the past Painstaking collection and well documented history of over 7000 years with photographs manuscripts, Artifacts. The tree all the way down to the current descendent is fascinating. A short visit is a must do in DHARAMSHALA
It was awesome experience. Got to know first hand experience of Pahari painting, Kangra Painting and Ragmala painting. Only 2 people were there, it was matter of regret. Being student of National Museum Institute,New Delhi, i recommended few suggestions for further improvement

The Kangra Museum may be not huge in size, but it holds a wealth of knowledge and insight. Its curated collection offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of the Himachal. Despite its compactness, the museum's exhibits are thoughtfully arranged and informative, providing visitors with a comprehensive understanding of Kangra's heritage. Whether you're interested in art, artifacts, or historical artifacts, the museum's focus on quality over quantity ensures a meaningful and educational experience. If you're looking to explore Kangra's past in a concise yet impactful manner, the Kangra Museum is a valuable stop that leaves you with a deeper appreciation for the area's cultural heritage.
Brief but well maintained collection of paintings mostly from Kangra valley. Nayika (naayikaa) and Baramaas (baaraamaas) miniature painting collections are special. Besides there is a smaller collection of sculptures, ornaments, masks etc too. Nice view of Dhauladhar from the premises
This place is arrives when you go towards Dharamshala from Mcloadganj. Didn't get chance to view from inside, but its a must visit. You can get pictures clicked outside the museum. Timing are 10 am to 5 pm Approximately time - 1.5 hours Amazing view. Overall a great experience.
A must visit place to immerse yourself in learning about the roots of the Thangka paintings of Tibet. The art museum takes you systematically through the history of the ancient practices of these paintings. You'll also learn about the cultural and religious aspects too. There is usually a ticket based entry but we were lucky. We visited the museum on Museum Day, so it was free for us.
