I booked a balcony room for a family trip, the room itself is really comfortable and spacious and the view from the balcony is exquisite. You can clearly see kanchenjunga in the morning. Hotel manager and staffs are polite and friendly and their services are excellent. However the car provided by the Hotel authorites from Siliguri Jn.on21/10/23and it's driver named Dipen were very rude. The driver made us walk 1km to get in the car and refused to pick up at junction knowing we are senior citizens. Did not make any proper stops so we could eat something in a 6hr journey, giving the same excuse we will be late and overall very uncooperative.
Whenever I travel to hills and north Bengal, my goal is to find a hotel that offers a great view of Kanchanjagha from the room. Due to the fact that I am a single mother with children, I was hesitant to choose the Aashiyana hotel. While I have visited Kalimpong several times, this was my first time staying at Aashiyana Hotel. It is a very friendly hotel that is ideal for a family vacation. I found the rooms to be very spacious and offered a wonderful view of Kanchanjangha. I have never stayed in such a great quality budget hotel in Kalimpong before. Only five minutes are required to reach the taxi stand from the hotel. The hotel ambience was very pleasant and family-oriented.
We visited this property. Anyone looking for hygienic accomodation should think twice or decide on booking post checking the rooms. The rooms were not that clean and some of them were smelly. The location was good, but the entry was shabby. Some rooms didn't have any ventilation. We expected a little more decency from the manager. Food quality could have been better.
Don't fall for the 4.5 rating. Worst service with the worst possible Owner, Mr. Joydeb Ghosh and the manager who knows nothing. No 3 bed room available but has them listed on website. Tries to fit one extra small,fragile cot as the 3rd bed. When complained about it asked us to leave the property and threatened us to throw out of the hotel in the middle of the night. Rooms: depends on the room, some good, some had insects in the bathroom with the bathroom door broken. Worst part is the path to the hotel entry, dingy , dark and dirty... Toilet smell.
