Kalikapur Rajbari Complex - Heritage building in Kalikapur, Maukhira - Purba Bardhaman, India

We visited the Rajbari with family and relatives in the month of June 2023. The Complex is not very well maintained. It normally remains locked. To enter the complex one needs to call the caretaker (the phone number is posted on the wall near the entrance). There is a very nominal entry fee, but the camera charges are exorbitant to discourage the serious photographers. However, mobiles are allowed. The Rajbari presents a piece of history. It should have been maintained very well. I would encourage people to visit the place.

Best place for visit near durgapur l, untouched place when you fill the history and nil chas... but open only morning 7 am to 12 pm and 04 pm to 06pm Rs 10 per visitors charging by the authority

Kalikapur Rajbari is situated in the district of Burdwan. It is very near from Galsi. It would be great if you can come by car, otherwise you can can reach there by train but it will be very difficult and also will be a waste of time. Kalikapur Rajbari is a famous place where so many shootings of various movies has done, one of them is 'TEEN', which was played by famous actor Amitabh Bachhan. At the time of Durga Puja this place is decorated properly. Durga Puja is the best time to visit this place (within 4days), if possible then pls go on Vijaya Dasami, then you can also participate in the rituals.

The old Rajbari is built by the Zamindar of Gushkara Paramananda Roy. Still now their heirs live in a portion of this building. I personally feel the main attractions of kalikapur Rajbari, Bardhaman are the sunset view from the terrace and the woman statue which seems watching from the window at the backside of the Rajbari. In a few minutes walking distance an old Neel Kuthi is there. Also two shiva temples are there on the left side of the entrance of the Rajbari.

It's a must visit place. Well-known for it's historical importance and the film shoots that take place regularly. Good for a short trip. You can also visit Deul mandir and park which is only 30mins from Kalikapur Rajbari. It's situated in the middle of village and light forest but is absolutely gorgeous.

Historical place but needed maintenance and little advertisement and it could be a tourist spot...you can visit during Puja time it has a protima inside the rajbari.
